July 19, 1999:
This past Sunday in Tampa, Florida Sid Vicious defeated Masa Funaki for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship as a part of the Music City Wrestlings 'Constitutional Anarchy'. Now Sid will travel here in mid to late August to defend his title.
last week our event was canceled due to Paul Jones had a death in the family and we wanted to honor him, this week we will have NWA Southwest action in the Texas Indoor Speedway Arena as in th emain event Kevin Northcutt goes against Bruiser Bull Schmitts. Check out the card!
July 10, 1999:
The recent Texas Indoor Speedway Arena show was very wild and filled with many surprise! The main event was a wild match up between Eric Embry and Rod Price that saw both men cross the busy Grapevine Hwy and end the bout on the property of the NRH Mall across the street!
Bernie Roth recieved a growning injury at the hands of Kevin Northcutt and Roth could be out as long as one month. Northcutt will be facing Freebird Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy at the July 30th Super Summer Sizzler event at the Will Rogers Coliseum
July 06, 1999:
The big Super Summer Sizzler card is now complete and the bookers at NWA Southwest have indeed boked a tremendous line up! Go the events area to take a peek at what could be the a strong canidate for card of the year here in NWA Southwest.
Our offices have contacted NWA World Heavyweight Champion Masayatsu Funaki and his managerial staff about a posible title defence here in Texas very soon. paperwork should be started soon to bring the current NWA title holder in threw the Texas Indoor Speedway doors in late August or earily September!
NWA Southwest Television Champion Dr. Tom Pritchard will be going to Atlanta on July 25th to represent us as he and four other TV champions frokm the other different NWA promotions will attempt to win the vacant NWA World Television Championship at the WCW Great American Bash. Manager Paul Jones will we are sure joining Pritchard there as Mr. Jones has had many years of success in the old Mid Atlantic Wrestling area that now is WCW.
February 18, 1999:
After two weeks off, We are back.� This coming Friday we will crown the first Southwest Television Champion.� And in our main event for the Texas Heavyweight Title, It will be Champion Brian Adias defending against "Rugged" Rod Price.
January 25, 1999:
The event for Friday has been posted in full.� Our big main event will pit The Midnight Express, who blame the NeWA for breaking them up, against Brian Adias and Dan "The Beast" Jesser.� Jim Cornette has also promised a big surprise for Adias and Jesser.� We will have to wait until Friday to see exactly what he has planned.
President Red Bastien will also be on hand to announce his plans for filling the championships here in the WWA-Southwest.
January 22, 1999:
The reborn WWA-Southwest is officially open.� We will hold three events every two weeks.� Our first event since leaving the NeWA will be on January 29, 1998 in North Richland Hills, Texas at the Texas Sportatorium.� The lineup should be completed soon.
We have signed many wrestlers to exclusive contracts.� There will be more signing very soon.� We look forward to becoming the best Southwest Fed in the United States.
