Olivier Tebily moved to Blues from Celtic on March 22, 2002, making an impressive debut at Coventry on the following Sunday. He went on to play a significant role in the Blues' successful promotion bid, playing mainly at centre-half but also in the centre of midfield in the Play-Off final against Norwich. Tebily joined Celtic in July 1999 following a five-month stint with Blues boss Steve Bruce's former club Sheffield United. Although Tebily is a French national he is an Ivory Coast international, having figured 16 times for the African nation.
