   Min system req: 386sx20
                   512k (400k Base mem available)
                   Vga graphics
                   DOS 3.3
                   Microsoft Compatible mouse and driver

Thank you for obtaining this game from your Pd library. I'm sure you
   wont be disapointed!

Anoid is a clone in the mould of Breakout (bats, balls, bricks ect)
Its powerfully adictive and great care has gone into the gameplay
factor which is sadly missed in a lot of games these days. Anoid has
been tested for 2 months after its completion by games players of all
ages and I have listened to their feedback and tweaked Anoid to provide
a Game that is challenging but not so hard as to cause disinterest.

In this version there are 10 levels to complete and if you wish to
register I will send you a data disk containing an extra 40 levels.

   How to play.

Anoid can be run from your hard drive or floppy, just enter ANOID at the
dos prompt. Anoid checks the speed of your computer so it will run at the
same speed on an old 386 or a Pentium.

At the title screen F1 starts the game, F2 shows the high scores (which
are saved to disk) F3 displays registering info and F4 exits to dos.
The bat is moved left and right by the mouse and the left mouse
button is used for releasing the ball and also for certain power-ups like
   lasers.
You can control the angle the ball bounces off the bat by hiting the ball
in the middle or edges of the bat, the nearer the edge the steeper the
   angle.

During the game F1 & F2 will turn the sound on and off, "P" will pause the
game and "esc" will exit to the title screen.

The space bar is also used to advance to the next level when there are
5 or less bricks left on screen, although when using this you forefeit your
end of level bonus. This was implemented because some players got fed up
taking ages trying to hit the last few bricks on screen.

Sometimes when a brick is hit it transforms into a power-up tile,
these float down the screen and to obtain the power-up you must catch
them with your bat. Some are a godsend (some are not!)

Lastly if you run anoid from floppy then keep the disk write enabled
because it saves the high score table when you exit.

   Tip. keep your mouse clean!

when you have just lost 3 balls on the trot because your mouse isnt
responding, rather than swear and throw you mouse half way across the
room scareing the cat just remove the cover from the bottom of your mouse
take out the ball and scrape the grime from the little rollers inside the
mouse, clean the ball and re-assemble and your rodent will be transformed
   like new again

PLEASE NOTE, I do not accept any responsibilty or legal proceedings from
anyone breaking their mouse while following my advice, if you clean your
mouse you do so at your own risk.

   Why can't I run Anoid.

Message "Not enough base memory to run Anoid". You only need 400k min
base memory so try typing "mem" at the dos prompt to see how much you
have - if it is below this amount there are 2 possible causes.

   1. Check your autoexec.bat file and remove Tsr programs not needed.
Only mouse.com (or your own mouse driver) is needed to run Anoid -
mind you, to have less than 400k you must have a lot of tsr's.

   2. Anoid is being run via a dos shell in another program, for example
a word processor. Exit any programs running and restart Anoid.

Message "Microsoft compatable mouse and driver not found"
Even if you have a mouse connected to your computer you still need a
mouse driver which is a small tsr program that handles mouse operations.
This program is on a disk supplied with your mouse. If you bought your
computer ready set up Then check under directory C:\MOUSE

As a last resort if you have windows 3.1 there is a mouse driver under
C:\WINDOWS called mouse.com. Try typing C:\WINDOWS\MOUSE.COM and the
   mouse driver should load.
