*Sigh* The clay season had arrived, unquestionably Pete's weakest surface. He had had solid results on clay in the past, but had also proven overwhelmingly mortal on the slow, red surface. Regardless, Pete was still determined to turn his year around, clay or no clay.

Dagger in the Heart: Fabrice Santoro. While his first match with Agassi allowed Pete a measure of revenge for Sybase, the match against Santoro was unarguably one of the worst results of Pete's career.
