ARAB LEGEND NO.8
JIM MCINALLY

Jim McInally signed for United in 1986 from Coventry City in a joint transfer with Davie Bowman.

At Tannadice he quickly became an effective attacking midfielder and played an important part in United's run to The Final of The UEFA Cup in his first season.

This brought him international recognition and he won the first of ten caps the next year.

A solid, if unspectacular, performer over the following seasons, he won a Scottish Cup Winners medal in 1994, in his 4th Scottish Cup Final for the club.

In 1995 he joined Raith Rovers where he was player/coach, but he returned to Tannadice the following year as one of manager Tommy McLean's first signings.

In June 1997 he moved across the road becoming player/coach with Dundee.
