Burnt Hills/Saratoga/Shaker @ Shaker HS
It has been a slow start to this years outdoor track season for Burnt Hills. For the first time this season things started to look up just a little bit (Thank God!!!). Matt Reilly has been out for a little bit with an injury but came back with a vengence today finishing 1st in the 800 meters with a blistering time of 1:59.5. Jim Light was close behind in 2:02.0 (4th place, not bad for being on a cruise ship for the past week). Jared Ray a rising new star (Senior) won the 400 meter dash in a time of 53.7 seconds. Dan Briggs, a freshmen, is also starting to make a name for himself running two second place finishes in the 110 High Hurdles and the 400 IH. He ran a 16.7 in the 110's and a 62.7 in the 400 IH. Chris Camp took on a competitive mile race and ended up with a third place finish after traveling to England last week. His time was 4:34.0. Mike Dolen finished his mile in 4:48 and Adam Bird ran a 4:58. Dan Crespin finished 4th in the two mile with a time of 10:11, Ben Pangie was close behind with a 10:13. The 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Kyle Folmsbee (2:08), Denis Moffit (2:08), Ken Laskowski (2:08, also in England last week) and Chris Bonner (2:07, also in England last week) took on the wind and finshed 2nd in 8:33. The 4x400 meter relay team of Jared Ray, Chris Camp, Adam Bird and Jim Light. Steve Layton a promising new comer in the Shot Put (yes a field event) threw a disapointing 38 feet. He said "I choked". But that is okay Steve, you are the man, he threw 41 feet in practice and hes looking to make a dent in the Section this season. Go get 'em Steve!!
I stole this from the Saratoga Website. Thanks Curran, I'll throw a link up on here for ya.

The PENN RELAYS @ Franklyn Field, Philly PA
Vacations, Injuries, the absence of 800 meter superstar Chris Dolen are all factors of what went into the Penn Relays 4x800 meter relay race. With all these factors the team was still able to come up with a solid 8:07.6. Chris Bonner taking Chris Dolens place in the line up came up with a really nice personal record of 2:03.2. Chris Camp ran 2:03.3, Jim Light 2:02.2 and Matt Reilly a strong 1:58.8 leg as usual. The season is still young and Burnt Hills is just starting to turn in some fast times. By the end of the season things could get interesting. Expect to see BH-BL back under 8 mins soon and maybe in a big way too.

H.G. Moran Invitational @ Hudson Falls HS
Burnt Hills brought their top varsity team to Hudson Falls to run some great races for the third day in a row and the 4th time this week! The day was started off with Chris Camp taking a 3rd place finish in the 3200 meter run. His time was 9:59.14, Louis Dinuzzo from Shaker won the race in a meet record 9:36 and Ichabod Cranes' Joe Pienta was 2nd in 9:55. Ben Pangie was not far behind with a 10:04 which got him a 6th place medal. Matt Reilly won a good 800 meter race in 1:59, Mike Dolen also ran and he got a 2:09. In the open 400 meters Kyle Folmsbee ran a 55 second! The 1600 meters saw two more people on Burnt Hills going under the 4:40 mark in an extremely tough race. Jim Light got 5th place with a time of 4:34. Dan Crespin was right on his tail with a 4:35 but got 7th place. This puts 4 people under 4:40 for the season so far: Matt Reilly (4:30.9), Chris Camp (4:34.0), Jim Light (4:34) and Dan Crespin (4:35). There are quite a few other potential runners that should crack the barrier. The 4x800 meter relay finished 3rd, the times for that are currently unavailable. Dan Briggs got his 400 meter Intermediate Hurdles time down to 60.8 seconds for 7th place, he also got 7th in the 110 High Hurdles. Scott Fura ran a personal record in the 400 meters in 54.8. The 4x400 meter relay team of Ken Laskowski, Kyle Folmsbee, Adam Bird and Chris Bonner all broke 55 seconds to run a 3:36. That was good enough for 3rd place. Adam Bird ran a really nice personal record in 53.3 seconds. That is all the information I have for right now, more to come if possible.

Adam Bird (2:05.7), Ken Laskowski (2:07.5), Kyle Folmsbee (2:09.5) and Jim Light (2:05.7) were on the team. Suburban Council Championships @ Guilderland HS
This meet can be charecterized by one race, Dan Crespin's amazing 3200 meter personal record. He pumped it out the same way he did the cross country state meet and got himself an impressive 2nd in a highly competitive race. His time is an amazing 9:41.6, shaving around 25 seconds off. That's pretty fun. Chris Bonner tied his personal record in the 1600 meters with a 4:40. Jim Light picked up 4th in the 800 meters, his time was 2:02.3. Matt Reilly steepled for the first time since last year when he got 2nd in the Empire State Games in July 1999. Riles managed a 2nd place finish behind Shaker Soph Justin Corelli (9:43). Reilly ran 10:08. Pangie had a good race also and finished 4th with a time of 10:16. Jared Ray had a good showing in the Pentathelon, he scored 2,599 points. He finished 5th. Chris Renzi jumped a personal record of 18 feet 3.5 inches.

Section 2 Championships @ Shen HS
It was a rough day out there and hopefully times will improve for next weeks State Qualifier Meet. Matt Reilly led the team with his awsome 1600 meter run. He finished 2nd to Justin Corelli who just barley "hooked" him with his arms to pull past in the final few meters. Reilly's time was 4:28.1, which is great in the death wind that circled the Shen track. The 4x800 meter relay team ran into rough times with Dan Crespin, Chris Bonner, Jim Light and Chris Camp running 8:28 for 5th. Splits are not necessary I think. Chris "Last" Camp came back to get LAST in the fast heat of the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.7. Chris Bonner won his heat in the 400 meters with a 55.0. Adam Bird ran in another heat and ran 53.7 (?). Dan Briggs ran a 60.9 in the 400 meter HH. Andrew McCarthy came in 3rd in the unseeded 3200 meters.
