The 4x400 relay of Jared Palermo, Jason Brisson, Chris Renzi and Dan Crespin (I think?) ran a 3:46.58 for 23rd place. The Frosh/Soph team ran 3:56.53 for 12th place. In the 4x800 relay Chris Bonner (2:05), Jim Light (2:04), Chris Dolen (2:05), and Chris Camp (2:03) combined for a 8:17.88 and 2nd place out of 40 teams over some good competition. This time has put us in the national elite rankings on DyeStat. Check it out DyeStat Elite Rankings. The sprint medley relay team ran 3:59 and got 26th place. Matt Reilly ran in a very competitive mile and got 8th place in 4:30.69. Ian Vonie came oh so close in breaking 5 mins in the Frosh/Soph DMR in a time of 5:01. All in all a good showing. Next week we travel to Dartmouth University. We should be very successful there.

The 4x800 meter Relay team was edged out by the closest of margins, 0.02 of a second, by Phillips Exeter of New Hampshire. They are a Nike sponsered team and a very elite boys school. The time we ran was 8:05.81. Which is an incredible early season time. Jim Light led off with a 2:04.8. Jim handed off to Chris Camp and he ran a time of 2:02.8. Then Matt Reilly and Chris Dolen ran incredibly strong 1:59's . Scotia-Glenville ran a strong 8:11 for 3rd place. Our 4x800 time moves us up to #6 on the DyeStat National Elite Rankings!!!!!!
Chris Bonner and Ken Laskowski ran the open 800 meters. Chris Bonner ran a strong 2:06 and Ken L. was in hot pursuit in a personal record of 2:08. Justin Palermo ran the open 400 meters in 55 seconds.

The Spartan Relays ran at the TCITL Relay meet on February 5th. The Distance Medley Relay got disqualified. None the less, they ran some fast times in the slow 10 lap to the mile track. Matt Reilly ran a 3:22 for the 1200, Chris Dolen ran 2:06 in the 800, and Jim Light ran a 4:47 in the mile. Jared Palermo ran a lap too short in his 400, the officials screwed up. The 4x1600 meter relay finished 6th with a time of 20:06. Dan Crespin led the way with a 4:46. The 4x800 meter relay ran 4th place. The Freshmen Boys ran a 1:56 in the 4x200 relay for 2nd place. The varsity finished 6th in 1:46. It wasnt a great day, but BH-BL is geared up for the upcoming Suburban Council Championship on Sunday. Meet starts at 1:30, Bus leaves at Noon. The 4x200 sprint relay picked up one point for the Spartans in a time of 1:42.6. The 4x400 meter relay of Justin Palermo, Chris Dolen, Matt Reilly and Jay Brisson picked up a 4th place finish in 3:45. Chris Bonner (2:09), Kyle Folmsbee (2:10), Denis Mophet (2:11) and Ken Laskowski (2:10) teamed up for 4th place in 8:40. The girls 4x400 meter team ran a "spirited" performance and won in a time of 4:20.9. Megan Abraham, Michelle Jones, Sarah Mollard and Emily Lewek ran the time. The girls 4x800 of Sarah Mollard, Leah Folmsbee, Michelle Jones and Jen Light finshed in 2nd place in 9:49.3. The guys 4x800 meter relay team of Jim Light (2:08), Chris Bonner (2:06), Chris Camp (2:03) and Chris Dolen (2:02) ran a sub par performance in 8:21 but still pulled off a third place finish. The more important race though is next week at the state qualifier, where hopefully the foursome can get their times down. Section 2 New York State Indoor Track Meet Qualifier @ RPI A very successful day as the Spartan Boys send 2 individuals and a relay and the Girls send 1 individual and a relay. Matt Reilly finished in 2nd place in the 1000 meter run (2:38.9) and earned a spot in the State Meet. Justin Palermo (pictured above) got himself into the finals again in the 300 meters and leaned ahead of the competition to get himself 2nd place (38.1) and also a bid to the 'Cuse Dome on March 4th, 2000! Leah Folmsbee (10:38) came in 2nd in the 3000 meter run behind Saratoga's Danielle Coon (10:28) to pick up the bid. The 4x800 meter relay team of Jim Light (2:05.0), Chris Camp (2:03.3), Chris Dolen (2:01.9) and Matt Reilly (2:01.8) teamed up for an 8:12 on the slow track (only 160 meters around, small square) to pick up the victory by quite a big margin over runners up Shaker (8:21) and Shenendahowa (8:27)! The Girls 4x400 meter team suprised people for the 2nd week in a row finishing 1st with Emily Lewek (65), Sarah Mollard(63.3), Leah Folmsbee (64.1) and Michelle Jones (64.4) anchoring. The team time was 4:17.
Respectable performances were put forth by the guys 4x200 team of Brisson, Ray, Briggs and Renzi running their fastest time of the season so far in 1:40. Chris Bonner ran a great race winning the 2nd heat of the 600 meters in 1:30.4. Ken Laskowski came in 2nd in his heat of the 1000 meters running a 2:49.
