3/14 National Scholastic Indoor Track Championships

@ NYC, The Armory Track

The New Balence National Scholastic Indoor Track Championship was very successful for the Spartans!! The 4x800 meter relay team showed what they were made of and won their 3rd Section Race in a time of 7:58.08. Jim Light went 2:02, Chris Camp 2:01, Chris Dolen busted out the 3rd leg 1:56 and Matt Reilly closed with a 1:57. The time was the 2nd best of the day going into the final heat. But tragedy struck and 5 teams ran faster. The Spartans missed getting a medal by 0.2 seconds. 3rd place was only 1.5 seconds off. If the Spartans were in the same heat things might have been different. But there is always outdoor, revenge will surely be sweet. Despite the disapointment of missing out of a medal the team ran only a second off of the school record, running BH-BL's 2nd fastest indoor track time ever. The performance got Burnt Hills an amazing 7th Place out of 42 Teams from all across the USA!!! This makes the Spartans 4x800 end the season #7 in the United States!!!! Leah Folmsbee also turned in a great race. She ran an 11:14 in the Girls 2 mile run on Saturday. It was a great way to bring the indoor track season to a close. Pictures from the meet should be coming soon!
