BH Girls XC 1999

9/11/1999 Washingtonville Invitational @ Washingtonville HS (3.0 mi.)

The Girls repeated as Team Champs with a winning over Warwick Valley by 4 points. Leah Folmsbee bettered her 1998 time by 33 seconds running a 19:02 and winning the race. Sarah Mollard finished 4th (20:12), Sammi Adkins finished 6th. Eigth grader Kristen Wayman made the jump from the frosh team to varsity and got 12th in 21:13. Kari Lewis finished the scoring in 19th. Kellee Koenig was 21st and Jess Hamil was 22nd.

9/18 Johnstown Invy (2.89 mi.)

The girls led by Leah Folmsbee's 2nd place finish in a time of 17:33 finished in 2nd behind Saratoga by 25 points. Sammi Adkins finished 9th in 18:14. The scoring was completed by Sarah Mollard (13th), Kristen Wayman (16th) and Kari Lewis (17th). Jess Hamil improved her 1998 time by over a minute and finished in the 25th spot.

9/21 Burnt Hills/Shaker/Bethlehem @ Bethlehem Town Park (3.1 mi.)

Sammi Adkins showed great desire and won the race covering the challenging course in 20:24. Sarah Mollard was close behind in 3rd (20:58). Kristen Wayman was 8th, Kari Lewis cracked the top 10 with a time of 22:06. The Girls lost to Shaker by one point but beat Bethlehem. They started their season with a 1-1 record.

9/25 Guilderland International Invitational (2.6 miles)

Leah is back on track with a 4th place finish in a time of 17:20. The girls took 2nd place with 4 runners in the top 15 spots. They were edged out by Guilderland, but beat Arlington.

9/28 Burnt Hills/Columbia/Niskyuna @ Niskyuna HS (2.5 miles)

The Varsity Girls blanked both Nisky and Columbia to improve to 3-1 record on the season. Sammi Adkins led the team with her 2nd place finish (16:10). Sarah Mollard followed in 4th (16:43), Leah was 5th (16:51). Kari Lewis and Kristen Wayman were in the 9th and 10th spots. Gen Light was 12th and Jess Hamil was 16th crossing the line in 18:13.

The JV Girls also won against both teams and also improved to 3-1. Kellee Koenig had an outstanding race and won in a time of 17:58. Michelle Lawless was 2nd and Katie Girard, Sam Roberts were 5th and 6th respectively.

10/2 McQuaid Invitational @ Genessee Valley Park, Rochester (3.0 mi)

The "braided bunch" finished a solid 3rd in the seeded AA Race. Leah came in 3rd with a time of 18:23. Sammi Adkins grabbed 15th (19:00). Sarah Mollard was 12 seconds back. Kari Lewis was 37th and Jen Light completed the scoring with a 71st place finish. Michelle Lawless was next in a time of 20:39. Kellee Koenig bettered her 1998 time by over a minute in a time of 21:02.

10/5 Burnt Hills/Saratoga/Mohonasen @ Mohonasen HS (3.1 mi.)

The girls went up against the nationally ranked Saratoga girls team. All ran impressive times. Leah turned in a 2nd place finish. The girls beat Moho but lost to Saratoga. Their record went to 4-2.

10/9 Burnt Hills Invitational @ Saratoga St. Park (5K)

The Varsity girls got back on track with a win over Mt. Anthony outscoring them 45-53. Leah covered the course in 18:16 and won. Sammi Adkins was 5th in 18:59. Sarah Mollard ran a good 19:13 and Kriten Wayman cracked the top 10 with a 19:31.

10/12 Burnt Hills/Colonie/Guilderland @ Saratoga St. Park (5K)

10/16 WRD Coaches Invitational @ Westchester Community College, Valhala (3.18 mi.)

The girls traveled to the site of this years state meet course and finished 3rd. They placed 4 runners in the top 20, and everyone finished in the top 50. Leah got 4th. Sarah ran great for 10th (21:22). Sammi Adkins finished 13th with 21:44 and Kristen Wayman continued to make a name for herself with a top twenty finish in 22:08.

Burnt Hills/Shenendehowa @ Shen HS (2.4 mi.)

The girls won fairly easy finishing the season with a 6-3 record. A great way to end the regular season.
