The designs of the 1937 series of issues were based upon the designs drawn by Mr. H. Archer. There were as many as 8 large pictorial issues as shown above depicting the different modes of transport for carrrying mails in India. The denominations issued were 2 annas, 2-1/2 annas, 3 annas. 3-1/2 annas, 4 annas, 6 annas, 8 annas and 12 annas.

Some high values were also issued keeping in tradition with the earlier rupee editions of King George V. Some images are shown below.
