MIDDLEFIELD LANE, HINCKLEYFIFTY YEARS OF FOOTBALL:During the season 1996-7, Hinckley Athletic celebrated their fiftieth year at Middlefield Lane. Since then there have been yet more ground improvements, including the installation of more hard terracing, a new directors' box and major stand roof repairs. The ground is now a better place to watch top class Southern League action than ever before. But don't take my word for it - come and see for yourself! HOW TO GET THERE: From the west - Take the A47 (Coventry Road) into Hinckley. Turn left at the traffic lights at the leisure centre. Follow the road through the town, bear right past the police station and at the next set of traffic lights turn left and immediately right. The football ground is located on the left at the end of the road From the east - Take the A47 (Leicester Road) into Hinckley. Turn right at the first major traffic lights after the fire station. Go straight over the next set of lights and then turn immediately right. The football ground is located on the left at the end of the road. By rail: Hinckley Station (Birmingham - Leicester line) approximately 2 miles away. Taxi office in station approach. FACILITIES: All senior League and Cup games are played at Middlefield Lane. United use the former Hinckley Town ground on Leicester Road, Hinckley for training and minor friendly / youth team fixtures. This ground is located on the outskirts of the town, next to that of Hinckley Rugby Club. Main / News / Results / Fixtures / Players / History / Heroes / Fantalk |
