MAIN NEWS RESULTS FIXTURES PLAYERS HISTORY HEROES FANTALK | HINCKLEY'S FA CUP CAMPAIGNS 1909-38After the demise of Hinckley Town the re-formed Hinckley United entered the FA Cup again in 1909. In 1913 the new side reached the fourth qualifying round after beating Grantham Avenue 3-1, eventually going out to Football League members Glossop North End. Between the wars Hinckley met League opposition just once - in 1923 when they hosted Grimsby in the fifth qualifying round. That year's competition also saw United defeat Nuneaton Town 7-3 at the Holywell.The 1930s saw United struggle in the FA Cup. On five occasions they failed to get past the first game and in 1932 and 1937 they failed to field a side in the competition. Yet local fans were certainly entertained by some high scoring games. In 1933 Heanor Town handed out a 9-0 stuffing to United. Five years later the Hinckley lads returned the compliment by knocking out Heanor 8-0 in the first qualifying round. 19.09.09 Sneinton PQ A 1-2 17.09.10 Horncastle United PQ H 2-1 01.10.10 Castle Donnington 1Q A 4-1 15.10.10 Leicester Imperial 2Q A 3-2 05.01.10 Mansfield Town 3Q H 1-2 30.09.11 Mansfield Town 1Q H 1-0 14.10.11 Sutton Junction 2Q A 1-3 28.09.12 Holwell Works PQ H 7-3 12.10.12 Sutton Town 1Q H 2-3 27.09.13 Arnold St Marys PQ H 3-1 11.10.13 Market Harborough Town 1Q A 5-1 01.11.13 Mansfield Town 2Q A 3-1 15.11.13 Grantham Avenue 3Q H 3-1 29.11.13 Glossop North End* 4Q A 1-5 26.09.14 Mansfield Mechanics PQ A 0-2 11.10.19 Whitwick Imperial 1Q H 4-2 25.10.19 Coalville Swifts 2Q H 0-1 09.10.20 Coalville Town 1Q H 5-1 23.10.20 Nuneaton Town 2Q A 1-3 24.09.21 Barwell United PQ H 7-1 08.10.21 Stableford's Works 1Q A 4-1 22.10.21 Loughborough Corinthian 2Q H 2-6 23.09.22 Ashby Town PQ A 1-0 07.10.22 Nuneaton Town 1Q H 0-3 08.09.23 Ibstock Colliery EPQ A 4-0 22.09.23 Measham Town PQ A 4-3 06.10.23 Burton All Saints 1Q H 4-0 20.10.23 Nuneaton Town 2Q H 7-3 03.11.23 Gresley Rovers 3Q A 1-1 08.11.23 Gresley Rovers 3Q H 4-1 17.11.23 Shrewsbury Town 4Q H 3-1 01.12.23 Grimsby Town 5Q H 0-3 20.09.24 Measham Town PQ H 5-0 04.10.24 Loughborough Corinthian 1Q A 3-1 18.10.24 Nuneaton Town 2Q A 0-2 19.09.25 Ibstock Colliery PQ H 4-0 03.10.25 Ashby Town 1Q H 1-1 07.10.25 Ashby Town 1Q A 3-2 17.10.25 Barwell United 2Q A 2-0 31.10.25 Burton Town 3Q H 0-1 18.09.26 Whitwick Imperial PQ A 7-3 02.10.26 Gresley Colliery 1Q H 6-1 16.10.26 Burton Town 2Q A 0-6 01.10.27 Burton Town 1Q H 1-1 05.10.27 Burton Town 1Q A 3-5 29.09.28 Gresley Colliery 1Q H 2-0 13.10.28 Loughborough Corinthian 2Q A 0-3 05.10.29 Gresley Colliery 1Q H 2-2 10.10.29 Gresley Colliery 1Q A 3-1 19.10.29 Gresley Rovers 2Q A 3-3 24.10.29 Gresley Rovers 2Q H 1-0 02.11.29 Burton Town 3Q A 2-5 04.10.30 Market Harborough 1Q H 1-6 19.09.31 Peterborough and Flett.
