Moose Hunting Tip: During the rut, you want to get close enough for a shot with your bow, try going in a canoe. When the wind is blowing from the north and the river is running north, paddle against the current of the river stopping to call every ten or fifteen minutes. If you get a answer, ignore it. Continue this for several hours. Once doing that, turn the canoe around. Now you are flowing with the river current and the wind is blowing in your face. Any moose who has heard the call will be standing on the side of the river. With one person in the back steering and one shooter up front you can silently drift right up to the moose for that shot. The rest is history...
Whitetail Hunting Tip: Ever have the perfect set up for a treestand however the scrape, or trails just don't matcht that perfect setup because of range , obstacles or what have you.? Take a old fly fishing line and rub a sex lure on it. Lay it across those trails or scraps and continue to lay it down in the direction you want the deer to go in, to offer you the best shooting opportunity. When a deer comes across this line he will place his nose on the ground and go from one end of the line to the other looking for the rest of the trail. Use rubber gloves to lay down the line so human scent does not get on it. I have found that James Valley Scents work best for this kind of thing.
Bear Hunting Tip: Bears are predominantly left handed. Because of this they do most of their work with their left hand which obstructs its vision to the left. With this in mind you should stalk the bear on the left side downwind and you will have a better chance to get closer for a good bow shot. Because of this the bear will usually flee to its right when scared off. That is because it knows that there is safe access to the right where it can clearly see that there is no danger. Because of this you can anticipate that you may get a shot if it turns in that direction
Small Game Hunting Tip: Tired of pass through's on small game. Broadheads will cause a hemorrhaging affect but will still go right through the animal. Place a rubber washer behind the broadhead, this will give you penetration and hemorrhaging from the broadhead and impact from the rubber washer. The washer will slide up the shaft and stay in the animal making it easier to find and recover the animal.
