Town looked like they could have some problems with a number of key players out through injury and so this proved to be. The game started badly for Town as they predictably gave the opposition a goal as early as the 4th minute. A blunder by Mark Thompson left the Tooting striker clean through on goal who coolly lifted the ball over the onrushing Freeman. Despite this early setback the Wokingham players settled down and in all fairness matched Tooting for the first 45. Town came close on a few occasions but failed to make these chances pay, meanwhile Tooting were trying to kill the game off by finding the second goal. The breakthrough for Wokingham came on the half hour mark ish when 18 year old Alan Inns rose above 2 defenders at the far post to nod in the equalizer and his first goal for the Super Satsumas. Impressive considering the youngster Inns is not blessed with much height and strength. The first half also saw a bizarre goal mouth scramble in the Tooting box which involved a 10 man bundle and a few stray kicks and punches. Town went in at half time reasonably happy that they could hold on for a draw and maybe snatch a winner.

The second 45 was a different story, Tooting almost completely dominated and had enough chances to seal a comfortable win. With Tooting's best player Pace dropping off the front line and running at the Wokingham back four it only seemed like  a Tooting winning goal would be inevitable. However Wokingham battled hard and dug in, defending well and hoping that Clifton Soares (pronounced Su-arez by the fans because it sounds more foreign) and Nick Campbell could create something on the counter. Yet again it was the midfield that let Town down as they failed to dominate proceedings, Campbell is much better utilized in centre mid where his high work rate and pace is useful but he was forced to play up front because of injuries.

How Tooting failed to score a second God only knows but it was a credit to Town that they held on. Tooting became frustrated and there were a few aggressive tackles flying in, which the ref incidentally didn't deal with too well. At the end of the day Wokingham can be pleased with  a point, after all it was only the warm up match for the biggy next week.
