Lining up against a team who have only just entered the Ryman third division this season Town were confident of progressing to the next round. As usual Town managed their frequent trick of playing poorly against the bad sides, and went down 4-2. The defence was again the problem, too often the Wakering strikers found themselves in plenty of space to fire home. Town conceded first but Paul Odey got one back with a well taken volley early in the second half. This took the game into extra time and with Town pushing for an equalizer Wakering scored a third, but never saying die Turner got one back for Town with a near post header from a corner at the end of the first half of extra time. Town fans increased the volume and they had genuine grounds for hope as it looked like Wokingham could go onto equalize, but Town let in a header from a cross early in the second period to put an end to the excitement.
