As ever Town fans were full of optimism going in to this years FA Cup, we had the usual dreams which predictibly failed to materialise. Although it is difficult to progress in the FA Cup it was still thought Town could get past a relatively bad Sheppy side. If it wasn't for terrible defending and missed chances then perhaps the game could have gone by the form book. Town quickly lost their way and were two down before Puckett scored an amazing 20 yard curling drive into the far top corner. Despite having between 5 and 8 legitamate penalty claims turned down by a completely incompetent referee (one of which was not only a penalty but a red car offence as well) Town still made, and missed, yet more chances. However encouraging this sounds there is still the small matter of defending while all this is going on, something which Wokingham obviously forgot. Two more Sheppy goals in the second half deepened the gloom around Stag Meadow, with a jubilant Sheppy bench the only voices to be heard in the dissapointing crowd. Town will have to look elsewhere for cup glory this season.
