Club Captain Simon Turner (who couldn't turn up early enough to play due to work commitments) gave an official quote for the website immediately after the final whistle that summed up this match very well, "different gravy" he said. I have to agree.
Wokingham, who hadn't won a game since mid October, were hardly high on confidence going in to this match, and still were without some key players. But they were all too much for sorry Bracknell, as the gulf in class between the two teams was all to plain to see. 3-0 really flattered the away side as it could have been oh so more had Wokingham's finishing been better. Although I arrived late it wasn't long before I saw Wokingham carve open the Bracknell back line. Shane Small had an effort saved and Alex Leacock missed an open goal from 6 yards with a header from a corner. Wokingham were dominating the play and making Bracknell look little better than a pub 2nd XI, with fluent attacking moves involving more than the usual 2 passes. A hapless Bracknell team were finally punished on the stroke of half time. Ryan Adger found space in the box, glided past 3 defenders, laid the ball to Ian Jimmy out on the right side who finished with aplomb into the far bottom corner. 1-0 and it was the least Wokingham deserved.

Stag Meadow
The second period was no different, Wokingham attack after attack, and Bracknell missed placed pass after missed placed pass. How this Bracknell team got to the FA Cup 1st Round God only knows, it surely can't have been the same XI that took the field at Stag Meadow. It was like a circus act. Their players kept falling over, slicing the ball and gifting possession back to the men in orange at every given opportunity. Their inability to pass in a straight line was shocking, they were simply one of the worst teams to ever line up against the Town. Given such a poor side, Wokingham striker Shane Small was in his element. This recent signing has taken has been an instant hit with the fans. His first touch and dribbling are not what you usually see at this level, as he embarrassed poor Bracknell time after time. His first goal was scored from a quick free kick (see picture below)
The ball was slid in to his feet, he turned the defender and fired into the far bottom corner to make it 2-0. A superb finish. His second goal later in the half was even better. The Bracknell back four attempted an offside trap that went horrendously wrong. Shane Small collected the through ball and raced clear and found himself in what must have been the definition of 'acres of space'. Not content with coolly slotting the ball home Small toyed with the goalie, almost trying to stare him out while standing mere feet infront of him. He then nonchalantly rounded the keeper and fired into the empty net. Champagne stuff if every I'd seen it !
3-0 and Town are threw to the next round where they will face Abingdon, another division 3 side who on paper are even worse than Bracknell. A win there would see us through to the quarter finals where we would probably have a good chance of drawing league opposition in the shape of Reading and Wycombe !
