ARROWSTORM

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 8

MAX DISTANCE: 55 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 35 ft.

MANUAL The firing follows the nerf manual way like as in the ballzooka and chainblazer.

The spring inside of this thing is huge and that's why this thing kicks ass in fights. It fires the two main types of ammo, darts and arrows, and it fires them fast. I recommend this for any trooper. It is the best for any trooper knowing that it is as good as the Supermaxx line of weapons. It doesn't jam, has rapid fire, and kicks ass once you get used to aiming. If you can find one of these buy it! When you put supermaxx darts in this thing they fly like hell. If you work out at all you can slam this thing and give the darts an extra kick.

BOW'N'ARROW

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION BUT THE UPDATED VERSION IS THE BIG BAD BOW

RATING: 4

MAX DISTANCE: 40 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 25 ft.

MANUAL The firing follows the nerf way started with this gun and now seen in the sucky max force 2112 line as in the stinging scarab.

This gun is the first nerf gun to make it big. When this gun first came out it was impossible to find it anywhere. This gun has come out in many variations including the sonic stinger which was with different colors and those whistle thingys like what is seen on nerf's footballs. This gun has a very large number of modifications even though none of them make it easier to aim. The new Big Bad Bow looks very promising and I believe delivers the power of the bow'n'arrow with a trigger for aiming. The Bow'n'arrow just is not going to help you in a war. I like to hold it like a crossbow cuz i'm down wit da west side. I like this gun because it is just reliable.

CHAINBLAZER

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 9

MAX DISTANCE: 50 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 27 ft.

MANUAL The firing follows the nerf manual way like as in the ballzooka and arrowstorm.

The chainblazer does have the jam factor but also has a greater firing distance than the rototrack. It doesn't jam as bad as the razorbeast but does have a very similiar chain feeding system. You can use this gun as your main weapon or as a hell of a backup. You carry an eight dart chain and you could carry the gun on your back since it is pretty small compared to the other big guns. I love this weapon for indoor battles. I just think that this weapon is one of Nerf's best inventions and I see it used in battles all of the time. I can rain bullets on a whole damn army with this baby and have every bullet nail them because the accuracy on this thing is pretty good once you get used to it.

EAGLE EYE

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 4

MAX DISTANCE: 30 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

The Eagle Eye seems to be kind of large for just a pistol. The cocking method is like in the sawtooth and was an idea tested by nerf that failed. The sight actually helps but you have to block off the sides so that the extra light it gives off doesn't give you off. I think that it is just an oversized pistol.

HIDDEN SHOT

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 3

MAX DISTANCE: 17 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 10 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

A back up weapon that serves its purpose. I never carry a extreme back up weapon though. Why you can't just carry a better weapon is beyond me. I mean when does a person come up to you and kill you execution style. That's the only way you can actually use a weapon like this. Even when I charge a person I rarely find a time when the person would have a chance to draw something like this before I finish them off. What does one shot do anyway? (sound like socrates don't I) Chances are the person has more life points than that. In my wars people tend to lose two life points at a time anyway. I think getting a mono blast or whatever the latest single shot gun is would have to be better.

IRON RAPTOR

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 2

MAX DISTANCE: 17 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 10 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

A gun that sucks. Leave it to nerf to see why kids want this. It doesn't fire far and has a odd style of shooting. The dart will fall out if not snug in the first place. The shape makes it easy to carry. This one guy I used to know recommended it alot...I no longer know him. It's not real easy to fire. You have to hit the trigger 3 times. The first time opens the "jaw" second makes the tube stick out and third fires it.

LOCK 'N' LOAD

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 6(relatively of course)

MAX DISTANCE: 60 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 35 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

A great sidearm long overdue from nerf. Fires a good distance and is easy to cock. I took the yellow cocking part off and put a keyring on the end of the cocking rod so that I can cock it easily. You would be amazed at how much the size is reduced. The supermaxx 500/750 shoots farther, but lacks the quick reload time. It was worth the purchase but still isn't used to much. Looks like Nerf has started making better darts starting with this gun. The sight is completely useless. Promise me you'll at least take the sight off of it. It gets in the way when you cock the gun and whenever else you need things to run smoothly. When the yellow cocker is on top and attatched, when you fire the motion of it sliding forward creates a force that makes the gun shoot high. That is just another reason to remove it.

MAD HORNET

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 7

MAX DISTANCE: 30 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 12 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns is that you pump the front part of it.

This gun was greatly anticipated but truly it sucks. It is a lot larger than it looks. If you have the room for it, it is a great sidearm (especially indoors). It fires rip rockets even though it is so large for a rip rocket gun which is another drawback. In between each shot the power of the darts decreases about 15%. You can make up for this by aiming higher after each shot. It takes a while to pump too.

MANTA RAY

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 8

MAX DISTANCE: 35 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

The intended purpose of this gun is what makes it usefull. I mean once you master using it as a sheild you are practically invinsible in a outdoor fight. This weapon is like sniper repellant. It is also the shotgun of the nerf world with its spreading shot of four darts. Like if you've ever seen Copworld when he takes on the guys first he uses his shotgun and then switches to his pistol. That is what you do with this gun. You can also fire two darts and then another two without reloading or cocking. This gun is a great backup to tell the other guy who wants to charge in to just back off. You can also take the sheild off which shrinks its size a lot.

RATCHETBLAST

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 5

MAX DISTANCE: 35 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

COCKING The firing has its own way that is a spin-off of the rattler's. I really like the way you cock it.

This gun starts off awesome but slowly loses its power and I don't like that in guns. It could fire so much farther if its barrels delivered air like the supermaxx ones. Yet instead it shoots the air in through the side of the barrel like in the rattler. This gun has one thing going for it that gives it everything-you can cock it with one hand. I've often gotten my second and used them combined for indoor wars. I will kill with them and just raid people like hell. I usually take a couple more hits than usual but the fun of cocking and firing both at the same time is worth the risk. I just like popping 8 shots in a couple seconds. You had better have taken that stupid wrist guard thing off too.

THE RATTLER

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 3

MAX DISTANCE: 35 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

MANUAL This gun really has its own way or cocking that is somewhat similiar to the chainblazers and also similiar to the ratchetblast yet still totally screws your aim up.

For the first couple of days this thing was out it was a good gun, but then came the ratchetblast and the rattler now sucks. The part that people (including me) just can't get over is that the way you fire this thing makes it hard to aim. No matter how long you practice it's just impossible to be deadly with this gun. There is no reason to ever carry this gun in your arsenal or to buy it. It does fire pretty far, but there is also the fact that I lost a war to my brother (yeah I can't believe it) when I chose to use this gun. Let someone else use it...they won't complain (it has 4 quick firing darts). It does fold up nicely to be carried. When it is new the darts go far but for some reason it gets worse with age...a common problem with guns recently.

RIPSAW

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 3

MAX DISTANCE: 20 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 10 ft.

MANUAL The firing is really on its own...you pull the handle back and make the wheel spin so that when the balls touch it, it will fling them out

Well, first of all it shoots balls which sucks.Second, it has absolutely no aim. Third, the balls go nowhere. It also makes a lot of noise when being reved up so everyone will know what you are up to. I've heard a lot about atatching extra pipe/hose so that is holds more and supposedly it shoots a load of balls real fast which sounds good for raiding or something like that. Except for the fact that the revving of the wheel doesn't last all to long. I don't like how you have to use two hands making it so you can't just whip it out and do a shot from it since you always have to get the wheel started.

ROTOTRACK

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 7

MAX DISTANCE: 45 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 25 ft.

MANUAL The firing follows the nerf manual way like as in the ballzooka, arrowstorm, and chainblazer except that the firing handle sticks out on the side.

RotoTrack has an improved belt feed making it so that the jam rate is practically gone. One drawback is that with the manual firing mechanism and the way it straps onto your arm it is difficult to have many side weapons. This weapon is up there with the chainblazer and the razorbeast. This is a great weapon for just a trooper to use but is also the other main weapon my gunner uses. His primary is a modified razorbeast.

SAWTOOTH

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 5

MAX DISTANCE: 55 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 35 ft.

MANUAL The firing follows the nerf way that is also in the eagle eye.

This gun has jam problems and darts will fall out of the clip constantly. It has the worst distance for a gun of this size and is like an oversized sharpshooter 2 with more darts ready. I just don't happen to use this gun very often. A lot of people love theirs after they fix it up...the idea of not having to reload has always been loved in the nerf community. The scope can be put on top or can be an extended barrel. The stock can fold down or be taken off. It is also kind of hard to load the clip every time when in a hurry because it has to be in just the right position.

SECRET SHOT

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 7

MAX DISTANCE: 35 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

This gun is an excellent sidearm and the "secret" shot has nothing to do with it. It is just that this gun is very compact and has two shots without reloading. The barrel in the handle is useless unless the person is charging you and is within 10 feet of you. It also uses rip rockets which does not really help. It is supposed to be easy to modify though I haven't tried. Go here for a detailed description of a Secret Shot. I just store the extra dart in the secret barrel such as in the warthog.

SHARPSHOOTER

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 6

MAX DISTANCE: 35 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 20 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with this gun.

This gun was one of the first. The only use for it today is its slight power and accuracy. It really is just to old. New darts are horrible and you can't get replacements. It is a nice simple backup weapon. It is the only gun to have type 1 darts.

SHARPSHOOTER II

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 6

MAX DISTANCE: 30 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

This gun is a necessary battle tool for many. I never really saw that much for it even after the huge amount of midfications for it. I guess people like it because it is very reliable and you can make this thing a death machine. I have been scared away from charging a person simply because I know that they have mastered this gun and that they have it for a backup (you know I went on to beat them anyway...I mean they won't win in the shootout and when they charge me I'll take them down). What I love about this gun is that it feels so comfortable.

STRONGARM

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 2

MAX DISTANCE: 25 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 13 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf way started with the original sharpshooter.

Well huh...this gun sucks. If you have it, sucks to you. I hate this gun. A part of nerf's wearable armor line titled cyberstrike this guns straps onto your arm. It is not worth the space it takes up for just 2 darts. None of the basic things (cocking and loading) are comfortable with this gun.

SUPER BLASTER

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 9

MAX DISTANCE: 23 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 15 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

One of the only true automatic guns and one of my rare finds. Made by a very small toy company, the RappN Fire Super Blaster is very similiar to the larami ballgun. It shoots foam balls 3/4 the size of nerf's and the same texture and color. It is about the size of the Supermaxx 1500 yet slightly longer. It takes more pumps than larami's ballgun and only fires 10 balls with those pumps. Yet I never was able to get my own larami ballgun so this is my only true automatic and I love it. The handle is kind of odd , but I think it's not that bad when you put 2 fingers on the trigger. Another example of non-nerf ingenuity. Sorry about the picture...I couldn't fit the whole gun on the scanner so I had to piece pictures of it together. The best sidearm a gunner can have. I was surprised at how sturdy it is for a no name company. I probably won't see much more of this company but they made a great contribution.

SuperMaxx 500

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 8

MAX DISTANCE: 65 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 45 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

This thing kicks ass and I regret that I was never able to get my own. I know of no gun that makes a better backup gun. You can literally snipe with this baby. I recommend using it if you can find it but it really is no longer available and even when it was out was hard to find. I love this gun but don't use it often because I don't know why. I just tend to think of other guns that I want to use instead of this. Great for long range defense. It also comes with 6 darts, my cheap scottish blood (I have to have an ancestor back somewhere) almost stopped pumping when I walked by this deal.

SuperMaxx 700/750

Still Available

RATING: 9

MAX DISTANCE: 65 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 45 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump it, but the pump handle is in the back.

Started as the 700 but few were made by the time nerf got its grubby hands on this design. Now is easy to find as the Nerf Supermaxx 750. It kicks ass is very inexpensive and small and everyone should have one. I always carry this when I'm the leader, gunner, or sniper. You can pull a single long range shot in a second. The gunner can use it to take care of those pesky snipers. If you're the leader you aren't expected to take the long range guys but if the guy is already aiming why not fire a long range warning shot so your sniper has time to set up. This gun is better than a lock'n'load and is the best sidearm. It fits great in a pocket too. Much better than the 500.

SuperMaxx 1000

NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION

RATING: 8

MAX DISTANCE: 65 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 45 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

It only fires original larami darts, so that sucks. It is a great trooper gun. I guess if the person doesn't have a supermaxx 2500/3000 then they should use this if they really want a supermaxx gun as their primary. The idea of the dart traveling down the barrel makes this thing super accurate, yet it's main fault. It's real easy to jam this thing, so you can't pump and fire like a monkey. I tend to use it when going against slightly retarded people because the gun is good but not good enough that I will use it in a R.A.D. war. I just like to use it so I do when its practical. There is no reason to ruin your name just so that you can have fun. The feared name is a greater weapon than any gun. It holds six darts which is a comfortable amount for a primary weapon.

SUPERMAXX 1500

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 6

MAX DISTANCE: 70 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 38 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

This gun is better than the 3000 in my opinion. The distance difference between these guns is obvious. Alot of people complain about how you have to manually rotate the barrel. You get used to it in a second and I never mess up with it. The size of this makes it a great backup weapon to carry in a backpack with you. Now it's low amount of ammo on deck limits its use as a primary weapon. I have used it occasionally as a primary to give people a slight advantage. I carry this gun very often and consider it one of my best buys.

SUPERMAXX 2500/3000

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 9

MAX DISTANCE: 67 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 45 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

The absolute best trooper gun there is and the one I use in "every man to himself" wars. The distance is good enough for outdoors and the ammo load is beyond acceptable. Much better than the arrowstorm and chainblazer/rototrack. You can fire off a shot in about a second and a half. Very accurate and used extremely often by me. There is some contraversy over the differences between the 3000 and 2500. I only know that the 2500 does get an extra 15 feet or so on every shot. This is the best all purpose gun I know of. It is a little larger than you would think it is. Even with one pump it shoots the distance of an average nerf gun. As in all supermaxx guns the darts fly incredibly fast making them difficult to dodge. Something that seems to happen to all of my supermaxx guns is that when a dart is used often the spring sensors will push the dart out. Stretching the darts does nothing even if you enlarge the hole. Instead you have to make the hole smaller or if the dart will just be left unused it will return to shape usually (or I just "trade" them for my brother's good darts). I have learned that there are 2 versions that are called the 3000. The early version shoots farther and uses pressure to turn the barrels. The newer version uses a clicking mechanism that turns the barrel. The new version is easier to pump but does not shoot as far. The clicking mechanism is made for little kids so they don't have to pump as fast to turn the barrel. When the new version is pumped very fast the rotater will skip barrels. You then have to pump and shoot until the darts are in the ready position or you can move the darts to the ready barrels by hand like I do.

SUPER SOAKER 2500

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 9

MAX DISTANCE: 90 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 65 ft.

PUMP The firing follows the Supermaxx guns in that you pump the front part of it.

This gun when modified makes a great sniper's gun...you can use a crossbow barrel or PVC to extend the 20x barrel on this. Once that is done it shoots darts farther than any other gun. That is only in darts though. The vortex can easily shoot that distance when aimed straight. This gun is relatively long in length making it a hindrance in most wars, but damn can it shoot! You don't have to carry your own ammo either because it can use plain old darts. I would actually use it more often if it wasn't that I just don't like its size. I'm sure this would work on the 2000 and 3000 too.

TORNADO

STILL AVAILABLE

RATING: 10

MAX DISTANCE: 125 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 70 ft.

COCKING The cocking mechanism is the yellow handle on top of the shoulder stock.

This gun is the best sniper gun there is. It fires unbelieveably far and accurately. This gun made my modified crossbow retire. It fires these red rubber rings for ammo. You load it by sliding the ring over the red conic part sticking out of the front then you slide the purple part covering the barrel untill it slides to where it covers the clear area...you now have access to where you can slide the ring over the part that holds it. The purple part will then slide back on its own to cover the front of the barrel. When you cock it it will move the ring to the back of the barrel that can be seen in the clear part. Extra ammo is held under the barrel inside of the non-trigger hand's handle. I like the way it holds the ammo more than the warthog's way. This is gun is highly recommended as my favorite sniper gun and is proof that nerf does not make the best guns.

WARTHOG

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

RATING: 7

MAX DISTANCE: 55 ft.

STRAIGHT SHOT: 35 ft.

COCKING The firing follows the nerf cocking way that was started with the sharpshooter.

The simplicity of this gun makes it awesome. It fires Rip Rockets either one or two at a time. The warthog is also relatively small so that it can easily be carried as a sidearm. The accuracy is ok. It makes a great sidearm especially in how it stores the extra darts in the handle.
