This is going to be my page about Waka Ama. I started waka ama (outrigger canoeing) in 1999 after needing something to fill the space left by dragon boating. I joined a Porirua based club in 1999, and as this club splintered ended up in another,  "Nga Waka Tekau Rautau ki Porirua".

I now own my own OC-1 which was purchased 3rd hand, and is a Seahawk from Te Wharewaka. I've had a lot of fun on this toy, and after recently spending 1/2 the purchase price on some repairs hope to have lots more.
