The punch hit him directly in the nose, causing him to lose his balance and stumble back against the ropes. Holding onto the ropes with one hand, he wiped the blood that ran out if his nose away with the other. Then he heard it.
"Taker! Taker! Taker!" It started out softly, but grew to a thundering roar that echoed throughout the building as more people got into it. He looked up at his opponent, a wicked grin slowly coming to his face. God he loved this!
He quickly regained his senses and gave his opponent the closeline from hell. The match was scheduled to end with him to be the one to be defeated, but since the crowd was really getting in to what he was doing, he figured that the storyline could be changed. His opponent was shocked and angered at Taker’s decision to be victorious, so when Taker rolled him up for the pinfall, he faked unconsciousness and allowed Taker the victory. As Taker straightened and made his way to the ring steps, the defeated man quickly rolled out of the ring and grabbed the nearest steel chair he could find. The Undertaker was to busy listening to the crowd chant his name to hear him run up behind him and swing the chair as hard as he could.
Taker had always loved to hear the crowd respond to him in a positive manner. He was walking up the ramp to the locker rooms when a bolt of hot pain suddenly shot from the base of his neck up and deep into his head. He fell to his knees then cloasped to the cold steel ramp as he felt consciousness slip away from him. His eyes were closed in his pain, but he could piece together what was happening by the sounds around him. People were screaming and he could hear official’s voices all around him. He heard them talking to him, trying to ask if he was all right, but he couldn’t answer. After minutes of confusion he felt himself being lifted onto a stretcher and heard the wheels groan under the weight that they carried as he was wheeled out to the nearest ambulance. Voices were all around him, but his foggy mind couldn’t comprehend what they were saying. He heard the stretcher wheels lock into the ambulance floor, the doors slam shut and the loud sirens start their screaming sound. His pain quickly claimed him and he slipped into unconsciousness.
