| Felicity didnt see Mark over the next couple of days. She was too busy with wedding plans, and she heard that Mark had gone back to his country to take care of business and prepare his country for the arrival of his new wife. Felicitys castle was in a constant state of excitement. People were always bustling about the castle, decorating, cleaning, or giving orders. Felicity found that she couldnt walk through the halls without being surrounded by the female servants of the castle to give her advice in her upcoming new way of life. Felicity appreciated the help and remembered everything that she was told. Every woman that talked to her never forgot to tell her how lucky she was to be marring such a wealthy man. When Felicity thought about the man she was to marry, she had only thought about if they would love each other, not if he had a large amount of money or land. She had always thought that if she had a man who loved her, children of her own, a roof over her head, and food on her table, then she would be the richest girl in the land. Her mother understood what her daughter was going through. She had been through it too. The Queen stayed close to her daughters side and whenever a look of distress appeared on the Princesses face, the Queen quickly sent the servants in the room away. This was a time when the Princesses emotions were at an unstable level and she could easily get angered. When the Queen was alone with her daughter, she spent the precious time telling Felicity about how she had met the King. She told her how nervous she was at the wedding and when she left the safety of her castle to live with her new husband and answered any questions Felicity had. When the long days were over and Felicity retired to her room, she did little sleeping. Grace would end up staying in the Princesss room, sitting on her bed and Grace answered the questions that Felicity didnt ask her mother. Grace was patient and answered every question with honest answers. Felicity was deeply saddened about the fact that in a few short days she would have to say good-bye to everything. She would not see her home, her family and friends, and everything that was familiar to her for months, possibly even years after the wedding and it scared Felicity to death. When Grace did leave the room Felicity did very little sleeping. Her mind was to clouded to sleep. Was she scared? Yes. No matter what anyone told her or how much advice she remembered, she would still be scared. She knew what would be expected of her and she remembered all of the lessons that she was taught about ruling a country and she found herself going over everything she learned. She wasnt sure she could go through with this... The castle had been beautifully decorated. It was to take place in the courtyard. When she had a chance to rest from the excitement, she went to the balcony of her room that overlooked the courtyard. Every servant that worked looked as happy and excited as the rest of the kingdom. She wondered what the servants in her new kingdom would be like. She had heard stories that some kingdoms treated their servants in barbaric manners, leaving them ragged and ill. Felicity knew that Marks servants wouldnt be like that, for she had also been told that a kingdoms appearance reflects its leader. What would her new home be like? Would Marks castle be like or different than hers? Were his mother and father alive, what would they be like, and were they going to come to their sons wedding? She had so many questions to ask him and she wondered when he would be back. She thought that they desperately needed to get to know each other better before the wedding day, but she seemed to get butterflies in her belly whenever he was around her, and her wedding was in two days. She ended up falling asleep in a confused and scared state of mind. |

| Grace made her way through the hallway that was darkened by the night, the single candle in her hand not giving her enough light so she was startled when she was suddenly approached by a messenger. After giving the young boy a stern lecture on scaring her, she asked what he wanted. They spoke briefly to each other then went their separate ways: he to the stables and she back to the Princesss room. Mark had returned to the castle. |
