Kristen slipped into the steaming water slowly, savoring every second. Holding on to the sides of the tub, she lowered herself into the tub and sat down, The tub was deep and long, enabling her to strech her good leg out and rested her injured ankle on the edge of the tub. Resting her arms on the rim of the tub, she leaned back, letting her head fall to the side, and let a long sigh excape from her lungs. The man, her brother, and the constant reminder that she had no idea where she was slipped from her mind. The warm water that rippeled every time she breathed soothed her every worry.
The Undertaker found himself again struggling to keep his mind focused on his work. Gritting his teeth, he tried to read the words and symbols in front of him, but his thoughts alwasy tried to wander up the stairs that led to her. His anger cliamed him and he slammed the book shut. Burying his head in his hands, he tried to fight the urge.
He had seen all kinds of women in his time, none of them sparking his intrest. But when he saw the girl, he suddenly felt a feeling in him that he hadn’t felt in a long time. An indescribable feeling that consumed him. The tiny girl was helpless and innocent, always crying out for someone to help her. He had answered her cry, but now wondered what to do with her. Perhaps he had acted to quickly and hadn’t clearly thought about what he was doing at the time.
A soft thump on his desk caused him to lift his head and see that the girl’s cat was again sitting on his desk, looking at him. The two stared at each other before the cat walked closer to him and rubbed itself against his arm.
The Undertaker froze. He wasn’t supposed to have the sence of touch, yet he felt the cat’s fur against the bare skin of his hand. He remembered when he had touched the girl’s shoulders. He had been to pre-occpuied to realise that he could touch her.
Reaching out to the cat, he carefully tried to pet the large cat, and to his great supurise, he could easily run his hand down the cat’s back, causing it to purr loudly. The corner of his lip curved slightly into a hint of a smile as he repeated the motion, the cat’s purring getting louder, then stopped as it’s ears turned toward the stairs, then he suddenly jumped off the desk and raced up the stairs. The Undertaker watched the animal go.
Kristen peeked around the bathroom door. Seeing that no one was in the bedroom, she stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a thick red towel. She heard the door open and she jumped back slightly in fear, but her fear melted away when she saw her cat bolt into the room and jump into the bed, purring loudly. Re closing the room’s door, she petted the cat’s head as she wondered what she could wear. She didn’t want to put her old and dirty clothes back on. She looked around the room, spoting a large wardrobe. Her curosity getting the best of her, she stepped up to the wardrobe and opened it’s doors.
Beautiful dresses of all sizes and shapes along with undergarments and shoes caused her eyes to widen. Reaching out, she touched a particular one that caught her eye. Full length and long sleeved, a red dress made out of a smooth and soft material was the one she pulled out of the wardrobe before closing their doors. She hoped that whoever owned the dress wouldn’t mind that she wore the lovely garment. Dropping the towel to the floor, she slipped into the underthings that seemed to fit her the best then eagerly pulled the dress over her head. The dress was a perfect fit and clung to her body. Bending down to the floor of the wardrobe, she selected the matching shoes, looked at them for a moment before setting them back in the wardrobe, seeing no use for them since one foot was wrapped in a bandage.
Bending down, she picked up the disgarded towel and returned it to the bathroom. When she returned to the main room, the cat was sitting at the closed door, as if he was trying to tell her that he wanted out. She opened the door and he darted out, but when she was re-closing the door, the cat bolted back in. She looked at the cat as it meowed and again looked at the door. She again opened it and he went out, then looked back at her, walked down the dark hallway a bit, then looked back at her, wanting her to follow him. Kristen clearly recived his message and she followed the cat down the hallway until she reached the first step of the stairway. She could hear someone moving and saw light coming from downstairs. Fear gripped her heart as she knew that the sounds were the large man all in black. She watched as the cat fearlessly decended the steps. She took a deep breath and reached out to the gaurdrail as she took her first step down the stairs.
