Serena sighed.
She was so lost it wasn't even funny. Here she was, having gone to
all this trouble to get a backstage pass, and she was totally lost.
"Why did Dennis
have to go into pro wrestling anyway?" She asked herself aloud.
She had to laugh at the thought of her brother. "I love him to death,
but this is one of the most ridiculous professions to be in."
Serena didn't
notice that she was turning heads. Everyone told her she looked nothing
like her twin brother: she was petite with wavy blonde hair and sparkling
sapphire eyes. But that didn't sever her close tie to her twin: they
were inseparable, even in high school, when she was voted prom queen.
She grimaced at that thought. She was glad to be normal, though she
wished she could say the same for Dennis.
"Finally!"
She exclaimed when she reached the right dressing room number. She
knocked on the door and a short, fat man answered the door.
"Is Dennis here?"
"Who's Dennis?"
The fat man asked. Just then, Midian walked by the door. He saw Serena
and screamed.
"Serena!"
Midian pushed by the fat man and squeezed his twin sister tightly.
"It's been so long!! I'm so glad to see you!!"
"Ditto!
When I heard you were gonna be in town I called my friend in the box office
and he got me a backstage pass." The other man cleared his throat
to interrupt the conversation.
"Midian, who
is this beautiful young woman?" He asked sweetly.
Midian frowned
for a second then faked a smile. "This is my twin sister, Serena.
We're really close, and I haven't seen her since I joined the WWF."
He looked over at her. "This is Paul Bearer."
"What an unusual
name. Nice to meet you." Serena shook his hand and he smiled a almost wicked
smile at her. "Nice to meet you too. Excuse me." Paul Bearer
left in a hurry. Midian watched him go as Serena looked around the
room.
"This place
is pretty nice." She looked back at her brother. "That guy
was a little creepy. He gave me the chills."
"Paul does that.
Are you staying for the event?"
"I could only
afford this pass. I couldn't have gotten tickets anyway, they're
all sold out."
"I have one
front row seat. You can have it. After the event, we can go
do something."
"Sounds great!"
She took the ticket.
"You better
go out there before someone snags it." Midian scooted her out of
the room.
Serena frowned.
Why was he in such a hurry to get her out of the room? And why did
that weird guy Paul call him Midian?
Midian entered
the dark room and bowed before the figure in black. He stood up and
stood against the wall next to Viscera. The Acolytes sat in folding
chairs and Paul stood next to the black figure.
"Midian, why
didn't you tell me you had a twin sister?" The Undertaker asked expectantly.
Midian gulped.
"Well - uh - well, I guess I forgot." He said nervously.
The Undertaker
smiled an evil smile. "From Paul's description, she is quite beautiful.
And she has great power, an excellent edition to my Ministry."
"My lord, please,
don't drag my sister into this. She would never understand -"
The Undertaker slapped Midian hard.
"NEVER question
my authority! She WILL join us, as a power and a bride." Midian
gritted his teeth. Viscera saw his friend struggle to keep from hitting
the Undertaker.
Midian sighed.
"Poor Serena. She should have never come here. I just hope I can
hold the Undertaker off and get her to safety."
Serena watched
the matches that night with a lot of interest. She had never really
thought about liking or hating wrestling. She definitely didn't like
the old man or his son with the dark hair who talked too much. They
were really mean to the nice man in the black hat, who asked them a bunch
of questions. She laughed a Mankind and Val Venis, who didn't turn
her on at all! Dennis faced some guy in a bulletproof vest and a
nightstick. Serena winced every time that Dennis got hit, and thanked
God that wrestling was fake. After the event ended, Serena quickly
made her way back to the dressing room to meet her brother. But he
wasn't there.
"Hmm."
Serena said to herself. "Where could he have gone?" She quickly
looked around the backstage area and ended up in the parking garage.
"Dennis?" Her voice echoed through the souless area. "This
is really weird."
"Serena, look
out!!" Serena turned toward her brother's voice to be tackled to
the ground by a strong black man. Midian quickly went to get Farooqu
off of his sister, but the Undertaker grabbed his arm.
"Don't interfere
with my plans Midian. I made you and I can definitely break you."
The Undertaker's eyes scared Midian. But the screams of his sister
scared him more.
"F*ck you!!
Serena hold on!!"
"Easy for you
to say!" She yelled, struggling to get free. Midian grabbed
Farooqu by the shoulders and squeezed as hard as he could. Farooqu
screamed in pain, and Serena took the chance to crawl out from under him.
Midian pushed him away and grabbed Serena off the floor. The last
thing she remembered was the sound of a car starting and then everything
went black.
