After breaking four state rushing records and leading Kannapolis Brown to the State Championship, Nick Maddox was named the North Carolina Player of the Year as a junior, edging out senior superstars like Shamar Finney and Victor Peppers.  NRA has named Maddox as their preseason #1 RB recruit in the nation.  Maddox rushed for 2,300 yards and 42 TDs last year-while splitting time at TB!  This is a very special player, from the same school that produced Tennessee career rushing leader Jay Graham, now a Baltimore Raven in the NFL.  Maddox will be able to pick any school he wants to attend, and his coach says that Nick seems to change favorites from week to week.  Florida State may hold an early lead, but Maddox is also considering Notre Dame, Nebraska, Michigan and North Carolina.  Tennessee, Duke, and Virginia have also offered scholarships.  One recruiting source at Tennessee calls Maddox the best player in the country, so you can bet the Vols will make Maddox a priority and will make a strong push to get a visit from this outstanding TB.
