Corazzin
a target?
Canadian
international Carlo Corazzin is the latest striker to be linked as boss
Andy Ritchie steps up his search for a new frontman. Corazzin has a great
deal of experience in the lower divisions, having been a prolific scorer
for both Cambridge United and Plymouth Argyle. The 29-year-old striker
has left Northampton Town on a free transfer after failing to agree a new
deal with the Cobblers. The Second Division side were not prepared
to meet the wage demands of a player who is likely to spend large parts
of next season away on international duty. Oldham boss Ritchie sees Corazzin
as a guaranteed goalscorer for Oldham next season, but may also struggle
to match the player's pay demands. Newly-promoted First Division side Gillingham
are also reportedly ready to enter into talks with Corazzin, and could
provide Oldham with stiff competition for the player's signature.
Oldham
win
Oldham
finished their Foyle Cup campaign with a win against 3-1 against Mourne
Colts. The Latics went behind to a second minute goal but that wasn't to
deter Athletic coming back to take the game. Craig Fleming equalised for
the Latics in the first half and scored two more goals in the second half
for his hat-trick.
Now Oldham face
Donegal and have the chance to bring home some silverware to Boundary Park.
