Latics earn point

Oldham had to settle for a share of the points after being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Wrexham. Going into the game Latics were full of confidence after a losing just two games in the last eleven. But it was an afternoon that would see them continually frustrated. Chances were few and far between as Latics were obviously missing the skills of Craig Dudley who failed a late fitness test. The closest Oldham went to breaking the deadlock came when Mark Allott forced a fine save from Deaden in the visitors goal. Wrexham also had chances and Gary Kelly had to be at his sharpest to deny Kevin Russell.
Soccernet .... Oldham 0 Wrexham 0 Oldham often lived dangerously and veteran keeper Gary Kelly had to come to their rescue on a number of occasions. He kept the Latics in the game in the 60th minute with a stunning point-blank save from Craig Faulconbridge. The same player was denied again with eight minutes to go when Republic of Ireland international Kelly pulled off another brilliant save. Struggling Wrexham, now with only one win in 12 league games, always looked the more dangerous side and Oldham, who have won just two matches at home all season, were happy to salvage a point.

Serrant is next target

Fulham have made Oldham left-back Carl Serrant their next transfer target. Paul Bracewell is keeping tabs on the former England under 21 international in a bid to strengthen the squad, eyeing him as competition and cover for Rufus Brevitt. Serrant, a left back or wing back, is back in the second division after his dream move to Newcastle United turned sour. He could be available for around £500,000.
