Latics hoping to bounce back

Oldham will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointing home defeat at the hands of Cardiff when they travel to Notts County on Monday. The Latics crashed to a 2-1 defeat against the relegation candidates at Boundary Park after taking the lead on Saturday, and must now pick themselves up for the trip to Meadow Lane. Neither side has much left to play for this season, so it could turn out to be a typical end of season affair although Latics boss Andy Ritchie will undoubtedly be stressing to his players the importance of finishing the season on a positive note. Ritchie may decide to make changes for the game and give some fringe players and youngsters the chance to impress before the end of the season. Teamtalk Notts County
All hopes dead

The Magpies go into Bank Holiday Monday's clash with Oldham with nothing to play for for the first time this season. County sit in 8th place in the table following Saturday's results, on 64 points, but after the 2-0 defeat by Wycombe on Friday all hope of a play-off place has gone out of the window. If Gary Brazil's men were to pick up all the remaining nine points on offer then they could only finish in 7th place in the table on goal difference, that is if Stoke failed to gain another point and didn't score too many goals. Otherwise they are fourteen points off of Millwall in the final play-off place, so promotion hungry fans will have to start pinning their hope on next season. Gary Brazil may now be ready to try and test out some of his fringe players ahead of the new campaign now that there is nothing left to play for. He will look at his resources over the weekend before announcing a final eleven for the Meadow Lane date, and the chances are there will be a couple of different faces on view.

ESPN Soccernet Gary Brazil has a number of injury worries as his Notts County squad entertain Oldham at Meadow Lane. Mark Warren missed Friday's 2-0 defeat at Wycombe with a back problem, while Dennis Pearce missed out with a thigh injury. Sean Farrell was another casualty with a thigh problem, and midfielder Shaun Murray was unavailable with an Achilles injury. Brazil said: "Oldham are a side doing half-decently. They are getting a good run of results and Andy Ritchie is doing a good job." Oldham boss Andy Ritchie is set to make changes to his Latics side that faces Notts County after their disappointing performance in the defeat against Cardiff. The Latics travel to County with Richard Graham likely to start in place of Mark Hotte. Other changes are likely after head coach Billy Urmson blasted the weekend performance. Urmson said: "We had too many out there who didn't play to their potential. They know who they are because I told them after the game. We can't make any excuses."
