A Change In Name But No Change In Aim
Tiong Bahru United is now called Tanjong Pagar United. But landing it's first S-League silverware on the shelves is still its top priority.
Club Manager Richard Woon said: "Name is secondary. What is important is the quality of the team on the field and what we produce. This is what the fans want to see."
"We are confident that with the product we have to offer, there will be even bigger crowds. Especially now that we have bigger fan base."
The Jaguars are linked up with the 10 divisions of Tanjong Pagar Community Developement Council.
Tanjong Pagar GRC and West Coast GRC each has about 100,000 residents.
Jaguars coach Robert Alberts said: "We have always played entertaining soccer. Otherwise, there would not have been 2,500 fans at every match the past two seasons. Finishing second two years in a row was good but not good enough. This year we have a target of winning at least one title."

Tanjong Pagar Latest Signing

Zoran Skerjanec, comes with impressive credentials. The 32yrs-old Croatian striker has netted 140 goals in 14 years of First Division soccer back home.
International level, he was capped seven times with Yugoslavia and five time with Croatia, and played for Croatia Zagreb, Dynamo Zagreb and N.K. Rijeka at club level.
The Croats is expected to provide the leadership that was missing last year.
