APPLIED PHYSICS TO BIOLOGICAL SUBSTANCES (APLICATION TO THE AGRICULTURE): INVESTIGATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT TITLE: PHYSICAL NON-CONTAMINATING TREATMENT OF CULTIVES IN GREEN-HOUSE AND AUTOMATED CONTROL OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS BY COMPUTER GENERAL PURPOSES OF THE PROJECT To develop alternative non-contaminating physics methods for treatment of seeds and automatization of physical parameters for treatment of cultives in green- houses using both hydroponics and soil. Experimentalization and production of high quality and low cost cultives for small, large farmers and rural sectors using modern technologies. SPECIFIC PURPOSES OF THE PROJECT 1. To investigate the effect of seed treatment with physical techniques during the development and growth of the plant. 2. To automate the measurement and control of physical parameters of the cultives in the green-house using both hydroponics and soil. 3. Economical studies of the utilized modern technologies. 4. To publish obtained results and to use them in the development of rural, indian sectors. GOALS OF THE PROJECT 1. To find an optimal treatment for each cultive, the dose which improve the production, the vigor and yield of the plants. 2. To adopt, modify and design interphases for reading and control of physical parameters with the assistance of computers and sensors and to automate the whole process. 3. To estimate the production costs if described technologies are used in the project. UTILIZED METHODS The present project approaches all possible phases of an agricultural production process: treatment of seeds by physical techniques, preparation of soil, preparation of substrates for hydroponics, preparation of nutritions, cultivation in green-houses using both hydroponics and soil and utilization of technologies completely non-contaminating and the automatization of the physical parameters. In order to obtain valuable scientific results, it is necessary to reduce the number of variables to be improved. All these matters will be developed at the same time. After the above described treatment of seeds, these seeds will be put in the cultivated fields together with the seeds untreated, as well as in the green-houses using both hydroponics and soil. During the growth of the cultives the number of parameters will be evaluated: days until the occurrence of the plant, the length of leaves and roots, vigor, sanitary state, the weight of the green and dried plants according to the cultives and their variety. These processes have to been repeated several times to verify the obtained data and to make the bio-statistical study of the cultives.
