A. Stashans, H. Pinto. Radiation induced hole polarons in BaTiO3 and SrTiO3 ceramics - 102th Meeting Amer. Cer. Soc., St. Louis, Missouri (USA), 2000. Abstract: By means of the modified for crystals quantum-chemical method and analytical analysis we study the possibility of occurrence of self-trapped hole (STH) polarons in BaTiO3 and SrTiO3 pure lattices. Our studies are based on the energetical favourability principle and lead to the conclusion of the STH polaron occurrence only in the BaTiO3 lattice under irradiation. Using our model we try to explain the non-linear photoconductivity phenomenon in this ceramic material, which partially can be present due to the STH polarons. Different photoconductivity behavior between two materials are taken into account. Finally, absorption energy of STH polarons is obtained using the delta(SCF) method.
