Felipe Neto has been training in Jiu-Jitsu for 11 years. He began his training when he was 17 years old with Professor Fernando "Pinduka" Guimaraes. He trained with Pinduka for 2 years before going to Ipanema to train with Jacaré, and joining the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team.

Felipe began competing early in his Jiu-Jitsu training, at the age of 17. He is a two time Rio de Janeiro state champion. He has competed extensively in Brazil as well as in the US.

Felipe is very strong for his size and is a very technical fighter. He has the ability to fight from the top, bottom, or any other position. He is excellent at passing the guard and possesses very strong side mount control. Felipe always fights for the finish, and never just to score points. The finish is what matters to Felipe.

Felipe was promoted to Black Belt on January 20, 1999 in the Master Jiu-Jitsu academy in Atlanta, Georgia, by Professor Jacaré Cavalcanti. It was a well deserved promotion. Those who train with Zicró know that he is not only an excellent trainer with a vast knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu, but also a good friend, and a great person to be associated with and train with. He, like most of the Alliance instructors, does not forget who you are once you walk out of the Academy doors. He is the type of person who will do anything he can to help you whether it be in training or in personal life. He truly cares about his students and the members of the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team.

In May of 1999, Zicró participated in the Calhoun Submission Open vale tudo event in a match with "pancrase" style rules. He came out fast and hard, and got the takedown on his opponent. From the first moments of the match, Zicró dominated the fight, not giving any chances for his opponent to fight back. It was truely a professional display of the years of training that Zicró has done in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He obtained the mounted position on his opponent, where he controlled every aspect of the fight. After a few minutes of receiving many blows, the opponent submitted, and Felipe won the fight without even taking any hard strikes.

Felipe's philosophy on Jiu-Jitsu: Always train hard, believe in yourself, and never get discouraged or give up. Keep your head up and always look ahead and focus on your goals.
