Cláudio Moreno is a Black Belt under Alexandre Paiva and a member of the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Team. He is the brother of Brown Belt Felipe Moreno. Cláudio was promoted to black belt on December 18, 1998. He has been training in Jiu-Jitsu for 7 years (Dec.98) He has fought in around 47 Championships since 1991, and placed in 40 of them. He is trained in physical conditioning by Paulo Caruso. He is a very calm fighter with precise movements and very good technique. He's strong and very technical with his movements. He prefers to fight from the guard, and is very good with sweeps and reversals from the guard. He has beaten Marcel Ferreira once before when they were purple belts in the Copa Akxe tournament by 2x2 with an advantage. He has beated Renato Ferro (black belt) twice, once as a blue belt and once as a brown belt, winning the second by inverted triangle choke. He beat Cassio Werneck (black belt) by advantage in the Brasileiro do Equipes. He has 4 wins over Carlos "Xuxu" Chermont, and 3 losses to Xuxu. He won a fight against Rodrigo Medeiros (alliance) in the Alliance tournament, and lost one. He defeated Kai Garcia in the finals of the Mundial '98. He defeated Egan Inoue in the Pan American absoluto, but lost to Egan in the Super-pesado of the same tournament. He defeated Marcelo Herz twice, and lost once. He's fought Antônio "Nino" Schembri (black belt - Gracie Barra) in the Brasileiro do Equipes, but lost to an arm bar. He's also defeated Vitor Doria (carlson) once and lost once to him. Cláudio is a master of the "tesoura" sweep.

Cláudio's philosophy on Jiu-Jitsu for the beginner: "Never give up training if you want to be a Black Belt. And never use the Jiu-Jitsu knowledge to fight in the streets without reason, because the true athlete will use the Jiu-Jitsu only in training and for competitions.

Cláudio's goals in Jiu-Jitsu: "I have earned the Black Belt and that was my first objective. Now I want to be a Brazilian and World Champion. But my main goal is to learn more and more.

Cláudio's philosophy in Jiu-Jitsu: "Train hard... very hard, always, everyday, forever."
