Each member of the Freshman Class may take 5 academic courses and a year of physical education. One credit is given for each (year long) academic course successfully completed and presently one credit is given for each year of physical education passed. No credit is given for a failing semester grade in any course. A full year of Chorus is recorded as 1/2 credit. 22 credits will be required to graduate including the following requirements:

1. 3 years of English (4)*

2. 2 years of Math (3 past Gen Math II and pre-Alg{Alg ½})*

3. 1 year of Science (3 lab science)*

4. 2 years of Social Studies (Am History is required)(W Hist, Am Hist, and Gov't)(3)*

5. 1 year chosen from Art, Foreign Language**, or Vocational Education (2 Span and/or Art)*

6. 1/2 year of Health

7. 1/2 year of Dr Ed (A minimum of 4 credits must be earned in the two semesters prior to Dr Ed.)

8. The U.S. Constitution Test (Given in Am Hist)

9. A Consumer Ed Course or pass the Consumer Ed Test (Test is offered each Fall)(presently Gov't, Geog, or Business Orient

10. 4 years of PE or documented legal excuse

*Asterisk indicates minimum course requirement for admission to Illinois Public Colleges and Junior College Transfer Programs Since Fall Semester of 1993.
