THE X-FILES MOVIE
I saw "Deep Impact", "Godzilla", and "The Truman Show", the first three projected summer blockbusters and each one did not live up to my expectations. "The X-Files, Fight The Future" was the fourth projected blockbuster. This movie was much better than the first three. I am not a "x-phile" myself, only viewing a half dozen episodes a season. The movie did not leave me feeling lost because I do not watch the series regular, which was good. I am sure it offered much to die hard fans of the series too.
The chemistry between actors Muldar (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) is the key to making the television series and this movie work. The aliens were menacing. The cigarette smoking dude is always in the shadows freaking me out. The movie worked and was a good extension of the series without changing everything. For we all know "the truth is out there" and the series (or a future movie sequel) will find it.
I enjoyed this movie very much. My rating is "A" or 9.0
