EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Bob Essensa made 26 saves as Edmonton beat Vancouver 5-0
Friday night for its first exhibition victory of the season. Kelly Buchberger and Boyd Devereaux both
had a goal and assist for the Oilers (1-3-1). Bill Guerin, Pat Falloon and Todd Marchant also scored.
Devereaux's pass set up Buchberger's goal, which gave the Oilers a 3-0 lead in the second period.
Buchberger then produced a fine pass that led to Devereaux's short-handed goal in the third. The
Canucks (2-2) failed to score on seven power-play opportunities.
