Fila have announced they will be extending Mark Philippoussis’ contract until 2003. This comes as a solid commitment to the 24-year-old on the day he fell to Roger Federer at the Ericsson Open.

Despite the third round defeat Philippoussis looked promising as he overcame America’s Michael Chang to reach the match with the Swiss.

Fila’s commitment to Philippoussis, who has now been on the ATP tour for seven years, is encouraging for the Aussie.

The Aussie has won eight career singles titles, including a recent victory in Memphis.

Along with Philippoussis, the Australian Open champion Jennifer Capriati, Wayne Ferreira, and Jelena Dokic, are all supported by Fila.
