He may not be a contender at Melbourne Park but Aussie ace Mark Philippoussis is not hiding his light under a bushel.

He has issued a plea to Prime Minister John Howard to visit his home turf at Footscray to see first hand the devastation that drugs is having.

Philippoussis will today help launch Open Family's Back to School program for disadvantaged kids at Whitten Oval at 10.30am.
