Mark Philippoussis has won his first round match at the ATP Masters Series in Cincinnati against Arnaud Di Pasquale 6-4, 6-2.

He now meets Marcelo Rios in the second round.

Philippoussis says after losing in the first round in Toronto last week, his game is now back on track.

"I've been working hard, after Toronto I went back to Miami and started training really hard and just tried to focus," Philippoussis said.

"I lost track of myself and my game for a while there after Wimbledon and just wasn't playing my natural game, I wasn't playing a power attacking
game.

"I've just got to apply the pressure.

"I worked on that tonight and I'm happy"
