RAFTER TO MEET PHILIPPOUSSIS NEXT WEEK

BRISBANE, July 25 AAP - Australian Davis Cup hero Pat Rafter is unsure about how a scheduled meeting with fellow tennis player Mark Philippoussis next week will go.

The two were scheduled to meet for the first time after Rafter accused Philippoussis of "jerking us around" after Philippoussis withdrew from the Davis Cup semifinal against Brazil in Brisbane.

Before leaving London after the Wimbledon final loss to Andre Agassi, Rafter said Philippoussis should make up his mind whether he wanted to play Davis Cup tennis or not.

Australia won the Davis Cup match 5-0 and will meet Spain in the final in December.

Rafter, who attended training with the Brisbane Broncos today said his meeting with Philippoussis would be "interesting".

"I will be seeing him in a week's time so it will be very interesting to see how that feeling is towards each other.

"I can't imagine it being great, so we'll wait and see," he told Channel Nine news.

Philippoussis this week has been installed as second seed for the Mercedes Benz Cup in Los Angeles after pulling out of the Brisbane semifinal because of knee soreness and tiredness.

He was later to top seed when Agassi withdrew
