Sheri's Got Sol

Sheri has had an interesting start to this 2000 WNBA season. The 5'11" guard started out with the Orlando Miracle, a team she had contributed greatly to as a starter last season. Orlando chose to waive Sam because according to coach Carolyn Peck, she didn't fit into their new up-tempo style. Many questioned why Peck didn't at least trade Sam to get something in return. The expansion Miami Sol weren't complaining. It wasn't long before they picked up Sam in a move they haven't regretted. Sheri has found her role in Miami, averaging again double digits and becoming an All-Star candidate.

A BIG thanks to Sheri for flying all the way from Italy just to take part in HoopSalute. Her dedication says a lot about herself and the league, and we wish her the best of luck! Thanks for putting on a show at HoopSalute for all the fans who were able to see it.
