Box Set Information
Guess what? In an effort to make me look like an idiot (just joking), Geffen has recently announced that the Box Set is indeed in the works, and will be released in September, 2001, 10 years to the day that Nevermind was released. Krist, Dave, and other sources close to the band are currently pouring over live and unreleased material to decide what to include in the set. Rumors have been flying that there will be as much video as audio, but I doubt that. Look for the price range to be WAY higher than my original projection of $35 - somewhere around $150-$200 is my modest proposal.
Re-Release of Bleach
In an effort to up the recent decline of their company, Sub-Pop has re-released Bleach, as well as 3 albums by other artists. The newly released version was shipped out on July 18, 2000, and is only available on 12" vinyl. It includes the 4 track demo which Sub-Pop wouldn't allow Nirvana to put on Bleach. One of the songs on the 4 track demo is Blandest (a personal favorite). The vinyl album can be purchased for only $10.
UPDATE on April 8, 2000
Well, on April 8, 2000, a protest of sorts was held. The organizers, however, took things over the edge, and the people in charge handed out pamphlets that demanded that all Nirvana fans boycott MTV, Pepsi-Cola, Bristoll Myers Squib, and any other company that sponsors MTV. This is totally senseless and I for one am completely disappointed.
Support the Murder Theory!
Listen up, this is big. The man on the left is Tom Grant, the private investigator that Courtney Love hired to track Kurt. Since Kurt's death, he has gone bankrupt trying to prove that Kurt was murdered and that Courtney is responsible. Anyway, on April 8, 2000, exactly six years after Kurt's body was found, Nirvana fans from around the world will be at the MTV studios from 12:00-2:30 pm. That's 1515 Broadway (I think). You can be there. It will not be a violent protest, but simply a rally for the case to be reopened. I myself am planning to be there. This gathering is to get MTV and their viewers at home to realize what has happened, and that an enormous cover-up is taking place. Apparently, MTV has not scheduled any type of special programming for this solemn occasion. Encourage your friends to come with you, put flyers up, do whatever it takes. Do it for Frances. How would you feel knowing that you're the only one who knows that your mother killed your father? So far, about one thousand fans are expected, and I will be one of them.Hope to see you all there. Until then, keep spreading the word, keep keeping it real, keep E-mailing Me your thoughts. Peace and long live the best band who ever graced this Earth with their presence.
Page Updated, No God
I finally got around to logging back into Geocities after making dozens of other pages around the internet, and I have decided to keep this page updated, at all costs.
Unfortunately, it seems as if the box set I spoke so highly about has fallen through. Dave and Krist have seemingly abandoned the project, which was due out by Christmas time in 1999.
There is A God - One Last Nirvana New Release
Well, well, well. There is NOONE happier than me right now. This morning as I was about to leave, I was watching MTV when they had one of their News brief things. Kurt Loder reported that Dave and Kris of Nirvana have been and still are putting together a "Nirvana Box Set", which, after a bit of research, I found will be composed of:
- Previously unreleased Nirvana songs
- New mixes on already released songs
- Some artists' tribute to Kurt Cobain (I understand that Hole is on there)
- Songs from live concerts
- Other funny/serious comments that Kris and Dave decide to put on there
The set is going to be out sometime in mid December - so they say. MY estimated price would be around $35-$40. Don't quote me on that. This really made my day. I can't wait.

A Story On Kurt's Artwork
"Exactly five years after the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, Christie's East was preparing to auction off three signed pieces of art by the grunge rocker (apparently he was a artist as well) that had been consigned to them by Cobain's former high school art teacher Robert Hunter. A pencil-and-watercolor rendering of Michael Jackson, completed by Cobain as a student in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1983-84, carried an estimated value of $3,000 - $5,000. Cobain's drawing of Ronald Regan was expected to fetch around $3,000. But I am told that when Kurts mother heard about the proposed auction, she contacted Hunter and requested that the requested pieces be given to the Cobain family instead. Hunter obliged, and Christie's scotched the plan.
