Pretty heavy stuff, eh? That was quite time consuming.
Kurt Cobain and Krist (then Chris) Novoselic met in 1985 and formed Fecal Matter, whom may have some demo tapes floating around. After their first drummer left (Aaron Burkhart), two unknown drummers and temporary Dale Crover of the Melvins took the spot for a couple months before Chad Channing took the drums. They hired guitarist Jason Everman to do live work (although he is listed on the Bleach credits, he had no contribution in making the record), but he soon left to join Soundgarden. Soon Chad Channing left, leaving the drummer spot open to temporaries Dan Peters of Mudhoney and Dale Crover. They soon hired Dave Grohl of the Scream, and switched labels from Sub Pop to DGC (Geffen). However, in April 1994, Nirvana ended with Kurt Cobain's death, a suicide. After the death of Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl gathered a new band, called The Backbeat Band to play some songs for the movie "Backbeat" about the Beatles. After the movie, Dave Grohl performed with some other rock stars and after a while made a new band, called the Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters are quite successful. They released their first album and already have toured Europe, America and part of Asia. Being Kurt Cobain's friend for a long time, Chris Novoselic was deeply touched by his death. After a long time, he finally made a new band, called Sweet 75. The band reportedly already has a record deal and should release their first album soon. Chris has also been working with a Political Action Committee called JAM PAC that has worked to prevent censorship. Pat Smear (Nirvana's extra gitarist) also joined the Foo Fighters.Go back to the Homepage
