| Alderman Murphy of the 18th ward, came to visit Randolph school and rewarded the students of room 202 with a pizza party lunch. He thanked the students for their participation in an essay contest. He couldn�t decide which one was best, so three names were drawn for prizes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Alderman Murphy is great and wonderful! He goes around and helps churches, schools and the poor in our society. Vote for him! Our class entered and essay contest. | On Friday Feb. 19 1999 Alderman Murphy came to our room because of what happened two weeks ago, when we wrote essays on famous black people. My essay was on James Baldwin . I wrote in essay and drew a picture. Alderman Murphy put our names bag, then he shook them up. When he pulled out the first name, he said "Eric Baker" that shocked me because that was the first time that ever happened. He gave me the book "For the Love of the Game," by Michael Jordan. Taray Gregory got another Michael Jordan book but hers was different than mine. Daririus Doss was the last name picked and he won an autographed Michael Jordan picture. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After that, we all got our pictures taken and Alderman Murphy bought us pizza and pop. I ate 12 slices. I wish I could get more but that would be too greedy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
