Hayward Hockey
2 sensitive guys of the 90s went through a box of Kleenex while watching the Movie
Titanic in Haward Wisconsin. The Mayor of Hayward had the ice ready on Friday night at
8:30 for the Duffers. He even had a goalie for us and a group of old guys that wanted to
play.
They were disappointed when Beak and Wheezer were the only players that showed
up. The rink was dark and empty on Saturday at the scheduled game time. The fans had
to party without the usual Duffer entertainment.
Wheezers brother Keith drove in to see some hockey, but he had to be satisfied
watching speedy talented youngsters, instead of the famous entertaining Duffers.
Beak and the Wheezer brothers used their free time to take in the award winning
movie, Titanic. It was almost as good as the Hale - Bopp comet. The cost for a ticket
was $2.00! They spent more than that on Kleenex.
This is Nancy Hanson with a TV star to be named later.
Pictured on the right, are Dan Lopatka and Chad Hanson. They starred at the University of Wisconsin in River falls and they were reunited at the Hayward Tournament. The Minitonka Bombers were flying last weekend as they streaked to the championship game on Sunday afternoon with 2 Saturday wins. The Championship game was tight as Dan and Chad had to face some of their River Falls underclassmen.
The game was tied 1-1 after 2 periods. Dan gave the Bombers the lead 8 minutes into the final period with a bullet into the upper right corner.
The game was fast and clean, a pleasure to watch. The referees didnt have to call a
penalty all day. Then they called two at the end of the game, and the Bombers gave up the
win when River Falls scored 2 power play goals.
This Dan and his future Bride, Sabina.
These are the Bomber fans. I'll post their names when Nancy E-mails them to me.
