North has recruited a number of new talented players to the club for the 1998 season. Get to know them here.
North finally got its man in 20 year old Shannon Grant but it came at a high price, the loss of vice Captain Wayne Schwass. Schwass was swapped to Sydney for Grant and a draft pick. Shannon Grant will add a bit of youth to North�s engine room to assist the likes of Anthony Rock and Anthony Stevens. Grant has only played 58 senior games but already has a big reputation. He was drafted by the Swans three years ago against his wishes and has been desperate to get back to Melbourne to play. Grants best year was 1996, he was a key player in the Swans resurgence up the ladder and played in their losing Grant Final side. Grant struggled a bit last year, but hopefully getting back to Melbourne will bring the most out of him and he can star for North Melbourne for years to come. I just hope he turns out better than our last big money recruit Keenan Reynolds. Reynolds demanded a huge salary at Arden Street but couldnt even get a regular place in the senior side.
