*The draft will be August 9, 1998 (Sunday) at 10:00 AM at the commissioners house.
*There will be a waiver wire this year.
Waiver Wire: The term "waiver wire" simply means a place where all cut players are located. Players placed "on waivers" become free agents if they remain on the Waiver Wire for approximately 48 hours without being claimed. Our league "waiver time" will be 8:00 PM. For example if Mark Bruener is cut at 10:30 AM on Tuesday he would clear waivers and become a free agent at 8:00 PM on Thursday. (If no one puts a claim in for him). This is a little more than 48 hours. If Mark Bruener is cut at 11:45 PM on Tuesday he would clear waivers and become a free agent at 8:00 PM on Thursday. (If no one puts a claim in for him). This is a little less than 48 hours. The waiver wire begins right after the draft and is in affect all year.
Waiver Position: Each team is assigned a waiver position at the start of the season. This rank is determined by the reverse draft order of the last round of the draft. The farther down the list of league teams you are the lower your waiver claim position.
One or more owners may claim a player "on waivers" during the waiver period.
To make a claim for a player "on waivers", simply call or email the commissioner. You will be required to let the commissioner know who you are cutting or putting on IR to accommodate the claimed player. This is the same procedure we will do for Tuesday evening pickups.
At the end of the approximate 48-hour waiver period, the player is awarded to the claiming owner with the highest waiver position provided he made the appropriate roster moves. The owner making the successful claim is moved to the last waiver claim position. Owners whose claims were unsuccessful, or did not make a waiver claim, move up one position on the waiver claim ladder.
Once you put a waiver claim in for a player you may NOT recall it.
*The "waiver wire" will also be the procedure followed for Tuesday evening pickups.
Must pay $150.00 by Monday, December 28, 1998 to the commissioner. You have six months to pay this!!
Trades must be even. For example a quarterback for a quarterback, running back for a running back,
etc.,
*Trading deadline is at the end of the Mon. night game between the Broncos and Chiefs on Nov. 16.
--WEEK 11
All roster moves must be reported to the commissioner. They are not official until he is notified. Leave a message on my answering machine or email me. If I am not
home, I will call the owners back in order of calls I received.
*Pickups can be made between Tuesday at 8:00 P.M.and Sunday at 1:00 P.M. (Game time) of each week during the regular season. Preseason pickups can be made at ANY time. You just have to follow the waiver wire procedures (including preseason).
Trades can be made at anytime before the trade deadline in preseason or regular season.
If you have a starter on your roster and he gets hurt you have the right to pick up his backup, unless he
is already on someone elses roster. This does NOT change your waiver wire position. You get the backup automatically. If you do not exercise this option within 48 hours of his injury he is available to anyone!
No picking up of players just because you have players off. If you have four running backs or three
quarterbacks with the same bye week you have to cut them to pick someone else up. You could also
leave the starting position blank.
All starting lineups must be in by 1:00 Sunday. If teams play Thursday or Saturday of the week you
must let the commissioner or the assisstant commissioner know if you are starting a player who is playing that day.
You will draft 2 team defenses. This will also be
your Safety team. If your defense has a defensive back score a TD from 60 yards out then your team
gets five points. (Just like if an individual scored a defensive touchdown from 1996 years rules).
The winner of the league will receive $900.00 and his name engraved on the P.F. L. plaque. The
runner up will receive $300.00.
No selling of players or draft picks.
*The draft will consist of 23 rounds. The order is 1. George, 2. Clint, 3. Erik F., 4. Bryan G., 5. Team Sabo,
6. Bryan F., 7. Jules, 8. Shawn.
Rosters include:
3 Quarterbacks
6 Running backs
6 Wide receivers
2 Tight Ends
2 Kickers
2 Defensive/Safety Teams
2 Special Teams
