Skins win again! 30-7 over the Lions!
We started off slow, but the defense held the Lions scoreless long enough for Gus and the offense to get it going. Gus was 20-41 for 247 yards, 1 TD, no picks. Westbrook's return helped out a lot- he caught 4 passes for 93 yards.
Once again, Gus was absolutely AWESOME on 3rd down, even 3rd and long- he's one of the best passers in the league on 3rd down. Also, he did a great job running the 2-minute (actually 30-second) drill to get the Skins a FG before the half. Gus did have a few passes dropped, 2 by the normally sure-handed Asher, and he overthrew a couple of receivers as well. Bottom line: Skins WIN again! We're 6-4!
On the season, Gus now has 15 TDs, 10 INTs, and 2163 yards. Keep up the great work, Gus- and BRING ON THE COWGIRLS!

Gus and the Skins destroy da Bears!
Gus had a virtually flawless game, completing 14-20 for 192 yards, 2 TDs, no INTs, and he also ran for another TD. Actually, his numbers should have been even better, because Stephen Davis dropped a perfect strike that might have been a TD, and there were at least 1 or 2 other drops. But who cares? Skins win!!
This is what happens when we have a running game and a team around Gus! Congrats to the defense, who played an excellent game as well, and to Terry Allen (great to have him back!)
Gus on the season now has 14 TDs, 10 INTs, 1916 yards, and a rating of 77 (that's about the middle of the pack for NFL QB's.) Let's hope we can keep it going against the Lions, whose defense gave Brett Favre a hard time today.
Hail to the Redskins! And congratulations to Gus and his wife Ann on the birth of Gus, Jr!

'Skins lose another one, this time to the Ravens. Gus was 17-33 for 199 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Once again, the Skins couldn't run the ball, and once again the opposing team's RB had a career day against that battered defensive line. Oddly enough, I've heard a lot of people calling for Gus to go to the bench. Obviously, I'm somewhat biased toward Gus, but I really don't see this as a QB problem when the defense can't stop the running game and the offense can't mount a rushing attack of its own. The QB can't do it all on his own!
For the season, Gus has 12 TDs (8th in the league- ahead of guys like Aikman and Brunell) and 10 INTs (that's tied for 2nd from the bottom- Shuler has 11 and Moon and Kerry Collins both have 10 as well). He has 1724 yards (8th in the league- ahead even of Young, Favre, and Aikman), but only a 50.8% completion rate (that's one of the lowest in the league- only Tony Banks is worse). Anyone who has watched the games knows that Gus has missed some wide open receivers, and has made some poor throws for INTs at times. On the other hand, he has made a huge number of great plays (did you know he has a third-down rating of 95- one of the best in the league?) and he has done this behind a banged-up offensive line and a mediocre running game to support him. I'm not trying to make excuses for him- he has made some great plays and some poor plays this year- but I really don't see why he's taking the brunt of the criticism.
The 'Skins are now 4-4. If we want to make anything of this season, we have got to get it together NOW!! I don't know how we're going to remedy the situation with the defense-or the running game- but I think that QB is the least of our troubles- the last thing we need now is a QB controversy and a new starting QB behind that depleted offensive line. It's tough to be a 'Skins fan right now, but I hope we will rally behind our team, rather than splittering in controversy.
On the other hand, the rest of the team didn't help Gus at all. The line blocked poorly- Stephen Davis carried 13 times for only 45 yards. On defense, the 'Skins were mostly horrendous- Eddie George had over 100 yards rushing and 2 TDs. McNair ran 7 times for 55 yards and a TD; he also completed 13-21 for 192 yards. Overall, it was a poor performance by just about everybody. (though we did have it going there for a while in the 3rd quarter.)
Well, we gotta move on. Next week we play the Ravens at JKC and we have got to play better! Come on Redskins!
Gus and the Skins do it again!!
Gus finished 12-23 for 154 yards
with a TD (should have been 2 TDs, that was a bad call by the refs). OK,
so it wasn't his greatest game statistically, but Gus got us going in the
game- that 48 yard pass to Shepherd was a thing of beauty.
For some reason, Norv decided to
stick with the run for most of the second half- a near-disastrous decision
after the Mitchell fumble. Hopefully, we won't try to just sit on
a lead next time we get up by 18 points. But Gus' last pass- a gutsy call-
was a 12-yard pass to Shepherd that got us the key first down and allowed
us to run out the clock, sealing the victory.
Kudos to the whole team for playing
and winning without key players like Lang and Allen and Westbrook (and
that's just the beginning, unfortunately). This win proves it- half a 'Skins
team is better than a whole Cowgirls team, anyday.
We're 4-2 and on top of the NFC East! Hail to the Redskins!!
Gus had an AWESOME game against the previously undefeated Jaguars!
3 TDs on 16-24 passing for 244 yards!
Well, as you can see, I have had very little time lately to keep this page updated- sorry about that. In the meantime, check out Webskins for updates, especially the Minute-to-Minute section for the latest updates on Redskins games. Also, try the NFL's site for Gus' stats. I hope to have time to update this page VERY soon. Go Gus and Hail to the Redskins!
How did the other Pro Bowl QB's fare?

| Brett Favre | 6-11 | 143 | 1 TD | 0 INT |
| Mark Brunell | 12-22 | 236 | 1 TD | 0 INT |
| Kerry Collins | 4-8 | 30 | 0 TD | 1 INT |
| Drew Bledsoe | 3-8 | 67 | 0 TD | 0 INT |
| Vinny Testaverde | 6-14 | 68 | 0 TD | 0 INT |
Gus clearly outplayed former first round picks like Bledsoe and Collins.
Let's hope he now gets the salary to match. Congratulations again to Gus
Frerotte on his excellent Pro Bowl performance and HAIL
TO THE REDSKINS!
