2005 Titans
5/17/05 - Thomas
JeffersonThomas Jefferson comes to the VP tonight and the TITANS are ready to defend it. It is also Senior Parents night as we say Good Bye to 13 Seniors and watch them play their last home game. We really got great play out of everyone tonight as we take another step toward being undisputed city Champs and achieving one of our season goals. Josh Probst and Josh Grosvenor really stepped up tonight and took control of the middle of the field. We marked up Seth Jackson on TJ's leader, Mr. Townsend, Seth shut him down and he was not really a factor. Cory Jasek played very well tonight as it didn't matter where I placed him on the field, the play never let down. The first goal came from Seth Jackson on his throw in. We tell him to throw it right at the goal, make the keeper beat you. Tonight Seth won, his throw is tipped by the keeper and lands in the back of the net. Then in the second half Joel Edwards goes into the corner and makes the perfect cross. He places it in the upper 90 and scores. We are playing very well right now as we continue to play with black tape and heavy hearts for Coach Willer, his father, and family. We now have one last step on Thursday as we travel to play St Alberts. We need the win to finish out the regular season with a win, and be city Champs. JV finished with a win tonight as well as they won 1-0. This game started out slow and we didn't seem to be going anywhere fast as we were not communicating at all. In the second half I asked Cory Jasek to go in and get this thing together. Cory stepped in and made a difference and we started controlling the game. Jeff Walters scores the lone goal as he happens to be in the right spot at the right time to put away the lose ball. Zane Brugenhemke and Ryan Thomas teamed up and locked up the 6th shut out and 7th win for the JV season. One game to go with St. Alberts on Thursday. The last time JV logged 7 victories in one season was 1999. |
