Rich showed that all the deuces had not died by rejoining Doug for play at John D Morgan, after a three week absence. Doug lamented the unprecedented story of two consecutive weeks with no players but him.

Rich came to play, after his loss three weeks earlier, taking the lead on hole 4. Rich claimed the only deuce of the front nine with a well placed approach to the drinking fountain at hole seven. Rich was three strokes ahead of Doug after nine.

Rich blazed into the back nine with three deuces on the first four holes. Rich drove with 10 feet of the tree at hole 10 and about 5 feet of the grate on hole eleven. Another deuce at hole fifteen increased his lead. Doug deuced holes sixteen and seventeen, but there weren't enough holes left for a comeback.

Rich finished with a hot 23 on the back nine to go with his 28 on the front nine for a 51. Doug scored a 31 followed by a 26 for a 27.
