It was reunion week-end at Lakewood Park. John Kimball, on his way to Woodies-on-the-Wharf in Santa Cruz, stopped by with the whole family to take a break and play 18 holes with Rich, Doug and Eric. Stephanie and the kids read and hung out at the station wagon. John got off to a bad start with the only bogey on hole one. He pulled even on hole three with a huge drive, leaving a 15' putt. all even again. in the school yard hallways, John putt his second shot on the roof, trying to get out of a tough position. Rich managed the only par here and John was able to save his disk with a quick monkey shinny up a pole on the side of the building! Rich increased his lead with a deuce on the next hole. John came back with a pair of deuces at holes seven and eight. After nine holes Rich and John were tied at 26, Eric was one stroke back and Doug two.

Rich was wondering how to stay up with John assuming that John would not be bogeying at the front nine pace. So Rich went to town with a pair of consecutive deuces top start the back nine. Doug and Eric also scored deuces at hole eleven. John tried to inch back into the race with a deuce at hole thirteen, but Rich answered with another deuce at hole fifteen. At hole sixteen John matched Rich's deuce, as did Eric, but when Rich scored his third consecutive deuce at hole seventeen, the race was over. John faltered with an O.B. on the final hole and had to have retrieval help from his son. Rich with five deuces on the back nine finished with a 26-22 for a blazing 48. Eric and John were at 53 with Doug another stroke behind them.

Hats off to Rich as Winner of the Week
