A complete foursome arrived to play at West Valley College. Rich Norris, Jim Hauer, Eric Mickelson and John Davis used this round as a tune-up round for the upcoming 20th Anniversary Tournament.

Rich set the pace with four deuces and one bogey to go three under par after nine holes. Eric had one less two that Rich and made the turn only one stroke off the lead. Jim Hauer matched a bogey with deuce, along with a string of pars to be finish the front nine even with par, John Davis started out with a deuce, but added four bogeys toun up a score of 30 after nine.

Rich kept the pressure on with three deuces and no pars, matching his front nine score and finish six under par at 48. Both Jim and Eric had par rounds to maintain their relative positions. Meanwhile, John Davis duplicated his front nine score to come in at 60.
